Honestly, I don't think I want to play this Sunday. Non-mod events seem so bland now.

I might change my mind if you really need another Wolverine.

I will have free evening today after all, so put me as back-up for M4, PzIV, or StuG, please.

I might come... The girl for tonight asked me to pick up a new date, if the other girl, I've choosed for replacement could not come, I would be here. I can have M4 sherman or pz4.

But it's not confirmed yet - once more: I might come ;-)...

Vitya, from what I understood you will come either way... :D

Btw. did you guys noticed that WG changed forum ranks? And I have now another degree, not to mention Professors Schwere, Zorin, Ascender, GT and Relic...  :Smile-hiding:

After Action Report:

Battle 1:
Being americanly americanz as we use to be we decided to ATTACK! (like PROPER americans!) so we did, on the west side of the map. We ran into the germans in their base, using the train tracks to their advantage. The battle was tough and hard and ended in a german victory.

Battle 2:
Not too sure anymore, my replays are failing to load. Either way, ended up as a german victory, being awfully close ending up with 1 StuG III alive at 9 hitpoints as the only remaining german vehicle on the map.

Battle 3:
Very silly battle. We decided to attack on the east flank for a change as opposed to the west flank of earlier. We went carefully and ended up in the german base, not spotting germans we figured they were in our base and probably looping back around, we did not find the germans for a long while and decided to take the same attack route back again (east flank). Entering our own base we initially found no1, then a Pz IV was found in the corner of the map and quickly overrun, at the cost of our Pz IV (Vitya) who got caught off-guard and out of position for the germans who returned across the open field. Not seeing the germans anymore in the open field moving into position, we defended our own base again for a while. After a while, not seeing any germans, we got bored and moved back for the "original" attack plan, as it happened this time we encountered the germans quite early, knocking out their Pz IV's out of StuG cover quite quickly followed by the StuGs who got quite effectively flanked in the back by a single Wolverine, causing irreverseable damage.

Battle 4:
With the scores at 2-1 the stakes were high and we decided to defend it out, after a while reckonizing the germans were doing the exact same we decided to attack still, this time across the western flank. Entering the german base we initially encountered no resistance, however this soon changed as we caught a Pz IV and a StuG isolated in the middle of the base, soon after this early and costless victory we encountered 2 enemy StuG's in the back of the base. We had Wolverines taking heavy fire by these StuGs, reckonizing they were without the 2 Pz IV's to cover them the order was given to charge them but never received, as the Shermans did not move from their position choosing to ineffectively snipe at the StuGs at range, with the result that many shots missed or bounced. The attackers then became the attacked as the Pz IV's came in from the rear, being hopelessly out of position they got killed very easily indeed and i'm still somewhat frustrated the StuG's did not get swarmed when they should have been!!!!!!!!! Either way, ended up a clear german win.

Battle 5:
With the scores already at 3-1 and no chance to win the series we decided to make a mad dash across the middle road as soon as the round started. As soon as the round started we start moving and quite quickly noticed the germans have had the same idea! The ensueing mélee ended in a clear american victory, with the Wolverine's RoF coming into it's own and the StuG's providing themselves in such a position they were immediatly outflanked and shot in the back, in some cases not even requiring the americans to do the flanking. The series ended with Germany 3:2 USA.

Conclusions etcetera etcetera etcetera
I wish to thank everyone who showed up, i like to think we had alot of fun in this reasonably "Ultimate Vanilla" battle, which i might elaborate ended up with 6vs6, 3 Pz IV's + 3 StuG's versus 3 M4's + 3 Wolverines.

No shows was GroundTrooper exclusively, iceride and vitya making up the lost numbers on the allied team.

This battle is a nice show of the StuG III's armor buff by WG, now being 80mm as opposed to 50mm. The StuGs proved the 1 unbalancing factor (imo) in this battle, proving extremely capable at bouncing shots which in many cases would have lead to a CLEAR allied victory on the field. The lack of a turret proved no problem as the extremely fast traverse of the StuGs provided them with better mobility then either allied tank available in this battle. Nontheless they provided the only armored tank in this battle and were quite ably to be penetrated in the front, i feel that perhaps switching 1 out for a Pz IV would have made it balanced but on the other hand we had on-average better skilled players (my XVM broke down so it is hard to tell for me xD) so i guess that offsets it. Either way, should something liket his be repeated it is important to remember. At any range the Wolverines and Shermans cannot aim accurately enough to pen the StuG and atleast 3/4 shots will bounce.

Overall, very good battle!

Second battle ended with the Stug surviving with 9 HP because of bouncing 4 shots before the remaining Panzer IV (I think unwillingly) Kamikazeed into the last suviving Wolverine i.e. ME.  :Smile-playing:

Not unwillingly ;) He did that on purpose. I think we just underestimated the damge the Pz. IV itself would take :D

Yes, I was like 90% sure that I would survive the crush, but it was a very funny moment anyway :P

My energy meter ran out (fell asleep) at the worst time though from the after action reports it was probably for the best.

that was good & fun, but I have to say, that the modded event is better. The last battle was a real action, for sure ;-)

Sad for me, that from 5 battles, in 3, I was the forward observer, who dies quickly ;-)

edit: I will count, but I think, that in 5 battles, I had more than 20 bounced shots from the front plates of the stugs...

I must agree, the battles were fun. I thought that without mod it would be boring or something, but it went great.

But, I must say, that the best fun we had after that, when Serpenta invited me to play 3-2-1 platoons with Relic, NOA and Mule. :D

Dear Players!

In My Opinion Only you are overreacting this stug's. Armoure is 80 mm and hase a loot of angles and that leeds to bounces as all of you know. But it does not make it overpowerd since M10 is werry bouncy and hard to pen in turret as well as front plate. All depends on aiming, situation and use of the terrian. That is my opinion.

But practice proves otherwise. I am not whining, the game still was fun, but StuGs had best survivability rate, though they're always our prime target.

What the hell is wrong with your grammer Saper? Either you're being sarcastic on purpose or your english has degraded alot recently.

And no, we are not overreacting about the StuG, the StuG can very reliably pent he Wolverine at range because the hull is 80% of the tank and easy to hit, the StuG is nothing but hull and that hull has 80mm of armor. As i say, it is not a huge issue because of the balance of players, but on the balance of tanks, it was off.

I see where it is going, it would be better if US had won.
