Artillery with revolver system XD

Well, lets say a standard tier 10 gun fires every 12 seconds. The top tier french guns on tanks fire their mag then must wait 47 seconds to reload, thats 400% load time.
So, if top tier arty takes.....30 seconds to reload, than surely the french arty with a mag could fire 4 (6 would seem too many surely) rounds in a mag and then they would have to wait for 2 minutes to reload.
Hence, no lemming train for french arty because it would be incredibly boring and situationally redundant to wait that long every 4 shots with little reliablility.
In fact they would be best at derping in huimmjelsdorff.
Obviously thats just guesstimates though. Would probably turn out that french arty upto tier 5/6 get a mag and the top tiers are normal?

Yes, why not? With artillery accuracy as it is, it really is needed to fire a barrage of shells to ensure you actually hit something...

Lets assume revolver arty gets introduced. 6 shot volleys would be devastating , no doubt, but after such a barrage, that thing is going to be reloaded. and now count all the realoading time and add it up. you woulde spend at least 2 minutes of pure reloading. have fun!

At what point does that deserve a -1? It's called reputation you dont just give neg rep because you disagree without even posting in the discussion

I guess it was me and yes you do deserve an explantation, i am sorry, i have played S-51, its the arty ingame that takes the longer to reload i believe, about 37 seconds i think, so lets say when you get to the chance to shoot you are unfortunate to miss, thats another 37 seconds, and so on, i dont think 2 minutes is that mutch to fire 6 shells or even 4, as long its in rapid fire it will allows the ability to finish a tank once and for all, and then 2 minutes of reload seems just fine for me.

and now count the time it would take to pick up all the pieces of your tank...

Because rapid fire arty would not fire like the french tanks we have atm. It would probably fire every 6 seconds minimum, i would think 8-10. Everytime you fire your aim resets and once the first shot lands people will often (always in CW) be looking for arty shadow. So for just 4 shots your looking at a tank staying in the same aiming arc, out of arty shadow for geting close to half a minute.
So tbh its probably more useful to have a t92 or 261 which are either guranteed a hit or guranteed a splash dmg from the first hit which does more dmg and is more likely to kill. French arty wont hit hard or do splash if it gets a mag so I would assume it takes at least 2 hits to equal a hit from the others and its gonna be like shooting with AP.
Plus if a tank is spotted and not in arty shadow its probably engaging other tanks so how many will survive for more than 2 shots at a time realistically?

There are many variables to all that, but anyway its not all about clan wars...

Overlord just said in the Q&A topic taht the top arty will have the revolver system:
1. Difficult to say in general for all of them. More of a conventional type I think, since none of them will get automated loading.
2. Same as TDs. If I do remember it right, only the top arty will get revolver system. Most of them are going to be agile and some will get turrets.

I have a few questions about upcoming tanks:
1) The French tanks can deal some serious damage in a short amount of time and TDs have usually the same gun, but with faster reload and/or more damage. Will this also be the case with the French TDs or will they be more conventional (like the French heavies till tier 8)?
2) Same question for the SPGs, can they shot 5 times in 10 seconds followed by 1-2 minutes reload or will they be more a variant of existing SPGs?

As an experienced arty-player I have to say that while a revolver system would be nice, a rotating turret would be even nicer. Sure, we might be able to fire of 6 rounds with a few seconds in between, but only the first one will be properly aimed, the rest are just random. It might be effective against large groups of enemies, or maby even as a scare-tactic. But ultimately, an artys mission is to take down the big tanks, and those guys are usually smart enough to stay in cover most of the time. They are usually weak when moving between cover and that is when arty needs to strike with high precision, something that a rotating turret helps a great deal with (playing SU-26 several times every day).
Oh, and on a sidenote: With the money-nerf on all tanks (but arty more so than others) I'm not sure I would want to fire away 6 rounds with a few seconds in between.

If you look at the recent patch changes you can see WG is pushing to promote counter-battery fire. My guess is that the auto loading arties will shine in this role. With counter-battery fire there is often no visible target only a location, in which case volume of fire suddeny becomes much more interesting.

Yeah, I'd still prefer a turret for that... but then I'm all about accuracy... I guess it just comes down to different playstyles.

I would absolutely love to be able to launch an inaccurate barrage. Perfect against those lemming trains. Would make me feel more like arty than a damn sniper. And sure, make it only usable in godview, I won't mind.

WoT have said French Arty WILL use a Revolver.
I say this will quickly prove to be overpowered and get "adjusted". Just as has been the case with the Revolver-Tanks.

does any one of you know, that the french t9 artillery only features a 155mm gun?
that's barely bigger than hummel
I'd say the revolver won't contain more than 4 shells
now compare 4 hits by hummel with 1 hit by t92
also 150mm artillery guns never have any dangerous splash, so french arty will have to hit directly in order to be harmful
I think everyone's just panicking out
french arty will have better survivability against light tanks though

I gladly trade my T92 in for a T9 arty with 4 revolver 155mm Howitzer system
