This month we would like to pay your attention to Sherman. Let’s read its history and the in-game tactics. And don’t forget that the 1st April offer is also dedicated to this vehicle… and to all other tanks and their first victory of the day!

Hello Mr. Community or whoever wrote the news article. I guess you wanted to say we shouldn't miss the occasion to make 3x experience for the first victory of the day?

Where's the premium sherman? Why it does not get the 3x? (M4A2E4)

those tanks suck so hard that i just sold them.

"tank of the month" lol
is that why you nerfed it to death? giving it "special treatment"?

Where's the 4th Sherman that is in game? The M4A2E4 could use some attention too.

Those tanks are great, maybe you just dont know how to play with them. Personally i like M4A3E2 most. With rammer and M1A2 gun you will shoot almost at same speed as those french autoloader bastards! :Smile-izmena:

agree!
I sold M4, I still have M4A3E2 but I don't think I'll use it again, unless his profitability will be brought back to the old one.
anyway, nice idea making "specials" on a nerfed tank ;)

Why isn't this special mentioned in the calendar for April? When does it start exactly, 1st of April? It would be nice to buy all the Shermans at 50% cost :Smile_great:

I was going to sell my E2 and buy a Hellcat but will have to wait a few days now (or lose 250k credits, which I could do I guess) I was looking forward to playing the Hellcat from day one. Always try to give a day or two notice before these specials, they are good but timing can be a problem sometimes.

E2 is awesome
E8 not so awesome, gets constantly matched with much higher tiers, isnt fast enough to scout, doesnt have armor/hp to take hits, doesnt have all that much pen when coming across higher tiers. Wasn't a fan at all of this.
M4 is fun, probably more so than the E8 in my eyes

Just my opinions

Sherman was the best tank in WW2, being able to take Panthers and T-34s down. It's sad, that in WOT it's so different. You always have to hide and avoid shots at any cost. You can only take down scouts, arties and lower tier heavys with slow turrets (if no other enemies around) on your own... Very low chance to win against Panthers and T-34s 1vs1.

Having said that, I love it's mobility.

I haven't tried it after the patch yet, but I think it's going to gather dust in my garage...

BTW, I'm talking about the E8. Never tried E2 and I sold M4 ages ago.

So, thats why I could only sell my e8 for ~200k credit

Hi,

Many thanks for this post.
This special tank was available only for those players who had at least 1000 battles played on EU server
- on the closed beta version only.

Many thanks,

I love my E8. I got to it from the M7 rather than the M4, so perhaps a difference in playstyle is what causes people to either like/dislike it. With 116% crew and gun rammer, my reload time is 2.75 seconds. You should never use it to scout. It's quick, but only to run circles around heavies with slow-turning turrets like the KV and KV-3. When you get placed in battles with tier 9 tanks and such, don't be overly aggressive. In maps with medium/large towns like Siegfried and Lakeville, use the buildings and streets to move in close and flank bigger enemies. Poke out, blast them a few times in the arse or side with the quick M1A2 gun, and generally distract them so your heavier allies can get in a couple of extra shots. Don't hang about either; move around and appear from different areas.
In big open areas, pick your targets carefully. If you spot a lone heavy, analyse the situation: Is there room for you to circle it? How quick can its turret turn? If you see that you have an opportunity to engage, go in and keep running circles around it, constantly pouring fire on it. I have taken out countless KV's doing this, and even a couple of Tigers (though those are much harder to beat). Otherwise, it's quick enough to move across the map to reinforce a weak flank, or to pull back and defend artillery if needed. If you're lucky enough to be placed in a battle in which you are the top tank, then it's very easy to dominate the game. Otherwise, you should play it more as a support tank, and NEVER let yourself get into a front-on situation with a heavy. Flank, flank, and flank. Those are your 3 choices of tactics :P

And finally, some proof that I'm not trolling;
