Please note that cakes without your in-game name displayed on the picture, legibly written on a paper will not be valid.

1000 gold?.. tight budget for a cake :)

With the total ingredient cost in mind - youd get more gold by simply buying it with that money.

In my country to make a proper cake you need more than 5 euros (equivalent of 1000 gold) for eggs, flour, oil, sugar, flavors.

Increase your reward to something like 5000 gold. Russian community managers for most contest give a reward of ~25.000 gold and you guys give us 1000 gold..

Or I guess we`ll use our great paint skills and draw you some cards.

Later Edit: to all people who are wondering what we`re discussing/complaining about: The first version of the contest had the ubber-cool reward of 1000 gold, not 5000 like they later said.

5000 sounds reasonable.

naaah.. the gold is not enough to make a cake or even spend my time on a birthday card. I just want to wish WOT a happy birthday.

We`ll bake a cake, spend more than 5 euros and then hope* we will win. Why should we do that instead of just buying the 1000 gold for sure.

*Comes to my mind the story of that wot player who participated in a contest to create a Porsche design tank, made that awesome 3D model and lost against Paint draw tanks. Of course our mighty user with his tank was voted by the entire community, but the admins didnt consider it worthy to receive a mention at least.

So think twice before starting to bake your cakes, WG decided this picture was better than this picture.

i made a picture for one contest and the players in the posts like'd it but the admins dint even decided to look at it.. the 5 mins creations in paint are more beautiful than my hours of good work according to the admins.. And should i participate again in a contest? When the admins review all the applications yes but for now nahh..

It would make more sense to make a cake in pixels:

Like this for example:

This is what I made a few weeks ago for,I do these things as a hobby, when time permits. It is not a true cake, it's sort of a tiramisu/ice cream-cake hybrid.

Spoiler

These were most of the ingredients, used for preparing that, some of them were on another table. Do you think that those ingredients cost me more or less then the equivalent of 1000 gold? :)
Spoiler

Are you not taking this one a bit far?

You people must have a limit, does decency, humility, normality not even enter your vocabulary?  If you want to stay with the 1000 Gold rule, fine by me I really do not care.

But at least have the decency and take out the word "cake" from there, you actually expect people to prepare something from 5 euros?

LE : Now I see you guys changed it to 5000 gold, hmm maybe motivation enough for some. Still, for just a normal home-made nothing professional type of cake , people would require a lot of ingredients and time. From 10K gold upwards count me in, below that, it's just not worth it for me. The ingredients cost me at least 2 times as much as the gold you offer, plus the effort and the time into making it, since it's WOT you also have to chose something tank themed, you can't just throw together a random cake.

Cool event.... NOT!

Allright, maby it is creative but it is NOT rewarding as an event.

Just give us a exp/credit boost for the matches during the event and the entire comunity will be happy to celebrate your aniversary.

Indeed. Community event is better then just to let a few gain of WoT's glorious first year as official beta.

Most games actually do something for the players to show some appreciation but I guess another contest for your own honor is what you do best.

I have not made my mind about the shape for the cake, but I do have inscription for a card:

"Congrats to official Community account for continuous and relentlessness resetting of its reputation!
Let the MINUS 10K become PLUS 10K every day for years and years to come!"

you can stick you cake and your cake baking utensils where the sun does not shine

this has to be the most stupidest comp you have run yet so far

if i started baking a cake my wife would have me sectioned under section 9 of the mental health act

just give every wot player 2000 gold as a gift
that.
one year anniversary should be a massive special that should benefit all players who helped wg get where it is today. so least you can do is give something back to the community.
free gold would be bit too much to expect but discounts on gold conversion to free xp, discounted premium accounts, 5X XP and similar options would be welcome indeed.
