as if WG cares about that... the VK45a uses the same turret as the KT.. yet it doesn't get the L68..
Most tanks (if not all?) have their 'historical' armanents available in game. So yes, I'm almost sure it will have the 128mm. Because of weaker armor but expected much better mobility and speed (probably comparable to Panther II, just like Jagdpanther is comparable to Panther) it will play quite different from the Ferdinand I reckon, even if they have the same gun.
And I'm pretty sure neither the VK 4502 Ausf. A and the Tiger II had a 105 mm gun mounted or planned historically. The Ferdinand did not have the 128mm gun IRL either. However, as far as I know it was planned for the Jagdpanther II.
So yes, I think they care.

I don't think it'll very useful if it won't have a 12.8cm gun since it won't have that much mobility and mobility for a TD is just a half asset (look at the Jagdpanzer IV). If it gets that PaK 80 it may be better even with less alpha than Ferdi (not less than 420-390 tho!) and given decent penetration (245-255mm) and good aim time (same or better as the PaK 44). Still it would have been better to have the E-50 hull, this might end up something like an ISU with weaker gun.

I don't care much about armor, it's not like Ferdi has good armor either. If it will have 12.8cm gun and at least same mobility as JP then I'll get it ASAP.

Armor 100 little bit disapointing... If no change MLE 1948 will be better sniper. JP II will still be probably spoted after first shot from 128.
And I dont like look of that tank.... back mounted cannon....

The only words I can say are. O M F G.
Test server at elite status (which I'd almost have on regular server aswell due to medium line engines) with clutch braking at 77%. Feels like a T-54, seems nimble enough to get out of sticky situation. Since it's based on JP don't count on your armor to take hits.
Inb4itgetsnerfed. Seriously WG, don't. It's the best gift you could've ever made to a JP lover.

128/55 or 105/68...I hope that these will be both available, just like 88 and 105 on JP. Either a mobile machine gun nest, or a heavy metal. Both are great on JP.

The screen shot I saw showed it as having the same guns as Ferdi, so 88L71, 105L52 and 128L55. Can't wait for JP2 just so I can actually get somewhere before the end of a round

It has something unique compare to ferdi its 88L71 has better rof than ferdi.

I apologise for my unenlightened question, but didn't the model JPII at some part during this development proces have a turret like the US TD's? I would have loved that.

It has better ROF then Ferdi?? WOW I want!!
Im used to cover fight even when I now researched 128 on Ferdi. 128 has very nice alpha... but I really dont like accuracy, I cant hit anything over long range.
Stil 100 armor is paper. Everything from T5 can penetrate you. Hope they will rise it a bit.

Have quastion, this new TD replace Ferdi or what?
The Ferdi will get it's own spot on the tech tree (connecting the Porsche line with TD's), while the JP II will replace the Ferdi in the current line.

last patch info shows that Ferdi stays where it is and JP II will has its own spot, no connection from heavies, just own spot.

The JagdPanther II is actually slightly taller than the Ferdinand, and it burns and takes engine damage from frontal shots.
The choice is quite obvious for me, even if the Ferdi is much slower.
Engine damages from frontal shots negate the speed advantage of the JPII.

i thought that the ferdi had its own spot becasue you can now research it from the Tiger P as it should have always been. the new german tech tree was shown a few days ago
