I'm a happy Marder and Hetzer bunny, but I'm not overly happy with the Stug.
Often in tier 8 games with it and even the best gun can't do much damage. Even when I penetrate from the side or rear (frontal mostly not possible) I need so many hits (up to 15-20) to kill something. They kill me with 1 or 2 shot. Worst are the city maps like Himmelsdorf...no cover, nowhere to hide or snipe from. In these games I always die without doing much.
The jagdpanzer4 is ok again, even when I get in tier 9 games I manage to do damage with it.
Looking forward to the jagdpanther...28000 experience to go.

Can I ask what is ok with JagdPzIV? It has same AP as Stug III and even worst with top gun. How you can dmg T9 if you cant T8 with Stug? To be one of last 5 tanks in MM is death for both of them.
Keep looking forward to JP, try safe about 14-16k free xp for gun. Its like penetration paradise

Never sell a Tank you have fun driving, earn credits for the next tank with the Marder.

Not sure why I do better with the JpzIV. Maybe the 30m extra view range (i also use binoculars) is helping me...also more shots bounce off the armor I think. 250 more health also nice.
Of course it's not a tier 9 killer, but there always lower tier tanks in the game to target.

A battle where I used my JpzIV well I think. No kills, but lots of damage and Confederate.
Staying alive was an issue, because both their artillery picked on me.
I already saved some free exp for the Jagdpanther, so I can buy some uprades when I get it. 20000 to go now

Shanina I don't know how you managed to damage so many vehicles and stay hidden. I hated the JPIV as I got shot up every game. Got a few kills, but just ground through it to get to the JagdPanther.
The JagdPanther is well worth it... The 88 gun is super-accurate and you can land penetrating hits every time. I regularly pick up sharpshooter and sniper medals with it. Stock, it's good, but upgraded it is just brilliant. Upgrades (IMHO) priority is 88mm gun, suspension, engine. The 105 gun is subject to alot of debate (see separate thread). I play with both and still can't decide which is best, but the 88 is good enough for sure, and prints credits.
I liked the Marder, but the StuG is the only German TD I've kept so far. It's elited now, and usually get 2-3 kills, record is 5. It is still one of the most fun tanks to drive.

You really need to fully upgrade the Hetzer to bring out the best of the tank. As stock it is one of the worst tanks I've played.

I only played Jpz 1 so far and the Marder. The marder I like in general, but have real problems with the 76.2 gun. Somehow, I can manage at most 1/2 to 2/3 of the hit ratio vs. miss I get with the 75. I know that the accuracy stats are nearly identical for both, they can't attribute for that much difference. Strange, it feels buggy somehow :(

funny how different players have different likes and dislikes.
My experience:
-Jgdpz I...nice, but always on the bottom of the list, so very tough. Good survival training though and that helps staying alive with later tds.
I still have mine, but wil sell it sooner or later I guess.
-Marder...I read some call it the Murder and that's just what it is! Top gun is deadly and it's accurate, but best thing is probably it's view range.
Add a camouflage net and binoculars and it's the perfect sniper. I'll never sell mine, because I love it.
-Hetzer...nice, but not easy. good front armor, but slow. ok guns. sort of like it. looks cute!
-StugIII...I can't do anything good with it. Often on the bottom of the list and very weak armor and low health. Must be me, because others seem to like it.
-Jpz IV...I like it! and that is odd, because I read many hate it.

I can't really comment on the Marder (I played it a long time ago, only picked TDs up again recently) or the StuG (literally only just bought it).
But oh man, the Hetzer! With the 105mm derp cannon it can ruin anything your own tier and below in one or two shots, often just killing enemies outright in a single hit. Anything above your tier can be damaged reliably, too. However, I have problems taking Tier VII tanks out from the front. If you can get a good shot at them from above, though...
And if in doubt, throw a shell at the enemy's gun. Gives you breathing room as he has to wait for it to be repaired, and on a KV-1 it takes a decent 10% of its health off to boot.
I played it more as an assault gun than a TD when I had the 105mm, just rolling in and blasting away. I've had a tremendous amount of fun with it, so I don't think I'm ever going to sell the little terror!
