I was thinking it would be Cool / Awesome / Easier / Wonderful if the WoT Team put this game on Steam under the FTP section...
I wanted to know what others thought about this awesome idea because then you get the following :

- Login through Steam for all servers (don't have to download 3 launchers).
- Friends will be Easier to Find.
- Better Clan and Friend talking / Convo's / Voice chat in randoms
- More People to Play with Potentially since more can access and own the game through Steam.
- More people targeted / interest level...

# of People on Steam right now... 3 million peak is 4.5 million...on WoT its about 100k on our server so that could grow significatly

I don't know what would needed to be done to add WoT on Steam but I thought this would be a cool Idea for a future release.

Thanks for a good Game hope to see it on Steam...

PS: I know there were some kind of negotiations/plans/promisses about it but that was just when I started playing WoT and kept both seperated what exactly went wrong back than?

I was thinking about that too , and the game could certainly gain big publicity .

Also WG could be able to sell starter , pro packs with gold ,premium and tanks-equipment , like many of these f2p game on steam offer .

Last , the often updates could be downloaded automatically via steam , so not losing time installing stuff .

Even that WoT is not on steam you can still add it to steam, the only difference is that it stands "in game that is not from steam"( or something simular) insted of "in game".

I dont think it would be a popular move as many people see steam as some sort of demonic PC infestation, however steam is in fact fantastic IMO. The integration of gaming and friends on steam is good, the control of content updates is good, and lets not forget that even though WG would have to pay steam so be on the network, there are millions of users on steam every day and it is a no brainer that it would increase player numbers, just look at some of the titles that have become million copy best sellers just because steam has given them a push in the right direction.

I'm sure WG won't pay for a service which is not offering too much enchantments but more dependencies, hence more error sources.

To me steam has been a pain in the ass ever since I used it. (I've spend several days trying to fix the some strange error with steam self-update.   )

Cant wait for all the awesome hardcore players from CoD and TF to join WoT.
We already have many awesome players during peakhours and getting more of those wouldn't hurt anyone, right?

I mean adding it to STEAM would be a good thing to have next to the regular start client. Not instead of.

It would give WoT another publicity boost.

I'm using Steam for years and I don't have problems with malware nor junk. Try using legally purchased games with it instead of trying to run pirated ones and it will work great   :Smile-hiding:

My my you can get of your high and mighty horse, i started using steam almost from the time it came out, it was bug ridden loaded with shite that corrupted your connection and files and generally was a waste of space, i still read the Steam forums and not much seems to have changed. And just for your information i never run pirated games, i have too much respect for those people who put time and effort into creating them.

I've heard rumors that it was crap when it was released (2003). I've used steam since 2007 or so and it has been quite good, and it's still getting better. Maybe you should give it another try.

well if it was added you could also see your playtime on your profile for wot and find friends on steam who play wot right now you only know it if they have screens of it

steam sometimes throws you off the server due overcapacity mostly if you have medicore/bad internet for the rest steam is perfect imo

Look what a dev posted almost one year ago:

http://forum.worldof...__add wot steam

And I guess Wargaming has no intend of extending it further - because it would take control over distribution away from WG and shift it to Valve... (Not even talking about the approx. 25% share of sales Valve requires for everything sold on steam.

Why would WG forfeit 25% of their money if they can rake it in well enough on their own?
