I didn't realise you could swap crews that way..

Will do that and fit Vert Stab in place of Binos later today.

Thanks for the tip.

I got the tank the hard way, i even grinded the 120 mm at tier 9; horror with 90mm, meh with 105, OMFG what a gun with 120. At that time it was my favorite  tier X tank gun in the game (not TD ofc), with great accuracy, rate of fire, penetration and aim time. Of course M103 is better in almost every way (except gun depression, turret transverse and 50 HP less), but i really miss my dear tier9 T34.

Now, on tier 8 T34.
I use rammer vents and VS. I had GLD instead of vents and i didnt feel any difference so i removed it.
On crew I have BIA (all crew, 100%), recon, snapshot, smooth ride, situational awereness, adrenaline rush and intuition (all at 100%), and repairs on all crew at 50% (repair time is ok).
Consumables the usual ones, except on daily doubles when i replace the fire extinguisher with 100 octane gasoline.
That means the tank and the gun is as good as it gets without the use of premium consumables.
With gasoline it really moves almost as fast as T32 or KT, turret rotation is pretty good. Without gasoline its meh, but BIA and vents do make all the difference, without them it was really slow.
The protection was horrid at tier 9, but at tier 8 i think its OK. Armor is not very good on paper, but it has very good turret, gun depression, AND huge tracks that absorb shots with no damage (so it can do a VK ausf B impersonation with sidescraper maneuver; i absorbed 12 shots from E100 and ISU152 in one game on central alley in Himmelsdorf, all just detrack). All in all I feel much safer in the tank than in the IS3, which cant do anything like that.
Now the gun. Its awesome. I dare say its better at tier 8 than it was at tier 9 (for its tier ofc). I dare say its better than the IS3 gun, hell, better than any other tier 8 tank gun (except the Lowe, maybe, but i never drove one so I cant say). Yes it fires and aims slowly, but its not that bad. And the accuracy is WAY better than it was at tier 9. Tier 9 IS4s were even easier to hit from distance than with tier 9 T34. Cupolas (T34, T95, german tanks) at 200m? ofc np. Hitting the IS7 in ammorack at close range? well, IS7, next time dont try to hug me.

OK OK if I really must say something bad about it is that its very vulnerable to arty, french tanks and fast meds, because it moves and fires slowly. You really need to exploit the positions and the terrain of the map to be successful, cause if you get flanked its game over mostly. Turret side armor is paper, u need to watch out and point the gun mantlet to the greatest threat, not spin the turret after a scout while ignoring those 5 heavies in front of you. Your turret IS your armor, its more important where you are pointing the turret than the hull.
And because its a slow tank if you choose the wrong flank there is nothing you can do to repair the situation, so expect the win rate in this to be lower than in oher tier8s, even if you do more damage.

anyway i bought it in some crazy raptus (i don't want to grind the US tree, but i wanted to play a hull down US heavy nonetheless), and after 6 battles i already hate this bulge headed thing... it's my fault, of course, but i'm astonished by the combination of long aim time, mediocre accuracy, bad mobility, AND extreme hull vulnerability... the worse aspects of USSR and german heavies with just a great gun depression to balance them. of course i knew it before spending those 40 €, BUT at least i had high hopes on gun's performance... it turned to be extremely unreliable (great penetration and alpha on paper, but it often makes lost less damage than it's supposed to, and bounces much more oft than not... in one battle i went against 2 VK3001p - i use to eat them for breakfast with every other tank i own above tier IV - and managed to bounce once on one's side and twice on the other's!!)
of course i know that i'm doing something extremely wrong, and that 6 battles are nothing. but - even if my playstyle will adapt much better to it, i can't imagine how that gun will ever turn useful after what i've seen... please tell me i'm damn wrong, for the sake of those 40 euros... :Smile_ohmy:

- EDIT - i just had a good game with it, thanks to a lucky positioning alongside a dead teammate... i bounced a lot, damaged many tanks to 1-5% HPs, and killed one, keeping them at bay for 5 minutes. of course we lost anyway, my team was slaughtered and 6 tanks converged to ass rape me. and that makes 29% WR. great. well, always better than my performance on the KV5... at least 5 killed tanks per game, and voila, someone captures and we lose anyway.

its a tank hard to play, you need to play it like a TD, witha vertical stabilizer, on it and rammer, you see the gun improving alot.  You cant play it like a heavy... Personlay i think of T34 as a Tier 8 T30.
If you are used to some of the american Tds and possibly others, you will do great with this tank.

About the gun it bounces now and then, but thats due to bad aiming on my part, if i aim well i can damage  Maus or any tier 10 for instance.
Its just its not a easy tank to play i recon that.

It takes me about 20 seconds to swap the crews over.  That means I can play my M103 AND my T34 with a really good crew.  Why anyone would start putting dedicated 75% crew in a premium tank is beyond me?

It's not necessary ofc, but I like it anyway. Makes me feel fuzzy inside and the T34 itself feels more appreciated.

Tanks have feelings too.

I rly enjoy to play with this tank. Yes, u can be oneshooted, yes u are paper tank, but when u use awesome gun + hull down tactic it can be a lot of fun + money making. For those who want to buy this tank- It need some time to learn to play with this heavy, especially if u dont have experience with USA heavy line. But its worth it. Yes, Lowe has slightly better MM, but its rly boring tank after some time (no hard feelings Lowe owners :). U need to have skill and nerves to play with T34 - at the end, isnt there a limit between skilled and average players?

And great text Charcharo :)

Well said good sir! +1 from me! :)

Bless! S.

I got 2 of my 4 top gun medals with this tank, and this means everything. It's just my favourite tank, despite the low armor, if u can go hull down u can face almost everything even in a frontal fight (except the T30 for obvious reasons and the T95 in my experience), and if the map doesnt allow u to protect your hull dont worry, let your allies go first and then follow them, with the 120 mm it's a great sniper. Two days ago i destroyed two IS-3 and forced a E-75 to change road by penetrating him 2 times frontally during a battle in the desert, just by covering behind the sand and sniping. Yeah, the arty helped me a lot in doing that, but it's like a small T30, find ur right place and u're a fortress. And the gun is OMFG for a tier 8, u can hurt even a Maus with no problems, earn lotta money and help your team in destroyin even the hardest steelwalls. The T34 is the best Tier8 tank in WoT in my opinion, it can eat every Lowe, KT or IS-3 if played properly: just cover your hull as much as possibile, fire with your monster gun and see your enemies blow away.

Great gun. But slow reload and aim time. Need support, dont go alone.

But you can really brawl with it too. Depends on the map of course.

Think you need 100% crew on this and 3 prices of equipment rammer, vertical stab, vents or god. Its a great tank with those and makes lots of money.

Loved this tank @ T9, so so at T8

Turret isn't great, but then again, it never was. Gun is excellent. Armour is laughable, and the manouverability is significantly reduced.

The biggest nerf isn't the HP reduction, its that it's now as sluggish as the Lowe... meh, still like it.

In 7.4 they nerfed the accuracy from 0,35 to 0,4.

Edit:
OL
That's a mistake. There will be no such adjustment in live 7.4.

I have Rammer, GLD, and Vert Stab.

Takes getting used to, but if you can get a decent amount of damaging hits on target, it prints money like no tomorrow. Such as this one. :Smile_Default:

sometimes this tank makes me rage like... i dont know what. but sometimes it just makes all the pain go away if the gun doesnt decide to fire under or over the tank.
seriously some games the shells just decide to go under the tank or just fire over it i cant understand why,

Useless absolutely useless. when i playing with T34 i dont have a clue about what to do. sniping with that aim time , reload time and accuracy isn't working. rush , push or attacking with that armor  and reload time usually end up with a fail. base defending with a tank supposed to be money maker isnt that good idea. then what ?

PS: i got vents+rammer+enhanced gun lying drive + bia

Sry have to vent about this garbage can...

/rant on

WG overcompensated for keeping the big gun on this tank by nerfing ALL other aspects of it into oblivion. Not that the gun is that good itself at all. Aimtime and reload kill it practically. Even with Gld and Vertstab, this shotgun rarely hits anything. Well except afkers maybe.

On top of that T34 is superslow, has no mobility at all, totally no armor except for the gunshield (and its not that hard to hit the cupola or the sides of the turret, its NOT the hulldown-wonder some make it sound it is), prone to module damage, and did i mention its slow?

I'd rather had the old T34 parameters and the 105 gun of the T32 than this crap tank with the crippled 120 gun.

Not exalted at all.

Oh, and dont give me the "its free" crap again. Its not. Its 10k gold (was it 10k?) and who got it through the conversion paid with hours of grinding. Besides, if i puke on your shoes for free, you wont be too excited, too, would you? Some things are just bad.

I dont use it for farming because its a pain to play, although its my only prem tank. But really its no fun at all.

Play styles differ. I find mine fun to play. It's a big Slugger basically.

The old T30 downgraded to Tier8, minus the mobility and turret traverse.

For a premium tank is very good. Sure is not a fun tank, but it makes his job and it's not frustrating because you often get bounces even if you aim at softspots (from that +-25% penetration roll).

In public test server has 0.4 accuracy, but Overlord said in Q&A that was a mistake and the nerf wont be aplied in 7.4.
