Really nice , seems like the Russians continue the tradition of not having comfortable crew compartments :D

Well , what mattered for the Russian tanks was ease to built and ability to replace fast .

Compare the view of inside of  the T 80 and the one of an Abrams or Leopard and you will see what I mean ;)

I once sat in a T-72. Indeed cramped but Russian MBT's are SO goddam awesome!

T80's? hell no. These are very capable tanks. Equally older then abrams, but much less costly to operate. The last T-80U model is pretty much on a simular level as most Westren MBT's. Altough still with the typical Soviet restrictions like low gun depression

Expect to see the T-72, T80 and T90 for a very long time even tough in 2015 the first new T-99Armata" Universal Combat Platform are built

Well, last I checked, T-72 could be upgrade to T-80U (hell, those tanks are almost twins!) So yeah, T-72 series is still capable tank but you has to upgrade it.
