So this would be the Stuart VI (M5 with the M3A1 turret) as stock, with the 'upgrade' as removal of the turret? Wouldn't this require 2 completely different models for the same tank? Swapping turret models around for upgrades is one thing, but removing it completely would surely add some complications...

How so?
Hull model would have the interior detail. But you wouldn't be able to see it due to the Turret as stock.
The "upgraded " turret is just a .50 on a scarf ring, with the rest of the "turret" set as invisible.

We had that sort of technology level back in the Steel Panthers days.

Ah, an elegant solution my friend! I guess the hitbox just wouldn't include the turret, so as to prevent random hits to a non existent turret.
I was just wondering whether or not each tank came as a complete model, with the turret as an integral part of that model, admittedly, my knowledge of game design is somewhat lacking...

Its not even as if we really need to worry about whether US designs will appear in the British tree, considering the confirmation of the Firefly

Steel Panthers....

Oh sorry just reminising, on topic I suppose Wargaming.net will dig out something, of course they could just skip a few tiers and make you work your nuts off with a Harry Hopkins...

The Valentine was an infantry tank and had a top speed of 24kph... Not a light tank really.
Have you played the premium Valentine in game? Its slower than a Churchill

Even though that would be 'open topped', the view range would probably be the lowest of all the scouts because of how low the overall tank would be.

It would also pop from one HE shell :P

Still, neat idea.

Strange one the Vally, the British classed it as a Infantry tank and it was based on the A10 Cruiser, yet its weight was only 16 tonnes so was classed as a light tank by the Soviets (the M3 Stuart was around 14 tonnes).

It's a shame no-one classed it a medium, you know, to complete the set :Smile_veryhappy:
