Are Type 59's Overpowered?

Yes it does have the lowest DPM. Go and calculate it. Does have the highest alpha too, can't deny that.

For the sake of argument, let's say I'm biased. Much like you are (everyone is to a greater or lesser degree). Who's left to be the judge? The devs, I guess. They say it's balanced.
On top of that speed is pretty decent for the armour is is having, It is adequate.
I agree. The speed is sort of adequate, given the "armour". But don't go around saying it has great speed (not meaning you, meaning the guy my original reply was addressed to).
Also a lot of mediums aren't 1v1er except maybe T44 and easy to ammo rack? So is
T44.
The Panther II can 1v1 all the mediums and most equal tier heavies, through sheer penetration, DPM and HP. T44 is also easy to ammo rack, yes. It reflects on the Type's performance how?
Also cupola? try hitting that when its moving.
Try hitting anything with the Type when it's moving.
Armour is very good, effective against 175- penetration is very good. Again easy to see you being bias.

To be honest I tend to think about the strong points of tanks I don't play myself. Then when I play them I realize that they have numerous bad sides, it's not all fun and joy.
The Type 59 is a good tank. No doubt about that. But a fully upgraded tier 8 medium is better, in the right hands. People that have it play it a lot because it makes great money, and with the good speed you can influence the battle more than you can in the other tier 8 premium tanks. If WoT had more tier 8 true medium tanks (Super Persh is a heavy in disguise, and although the french heavy plays like a medium tank it is as big as a house, and apparently has problems with module damage, forcing a different game play than most meds) I bet the cries about the Type would die down.
