A well suited partner for locust

I got my M22 thanks to PC gamer several months ago and its been one of the best tank ive played with. Nothing of the same tier can beat it when you play aggressively and in someones face. Very much a close range brawling tank.
Now my question is for my friend who wants to get a Tier 3 tank which matches it, which is well suited to fighting along side. It would need to be fast and with a rapid fire gun. Any suggestions as to what to use. Obviously lights and meds only, no TD's or anything which might alter the MM more than it should. Thinking maybe the luchs, but other suggestions?

T-15 Skoda.
Seriously. Its got a better radio and a slightly better view range then the Locust. Both play similarly.
The locust is slightly more maneuverable, but the T-15 can keep up with it on the battlefield, and has a low profile as well.
When I'm in a tier 3 mode I run both back to back.
If he doesn't want to spend gold, then the M3 US tier 3.
