T-44 frontal armor is 90mm
DB frontal armor is 80mm

T44 front armor is more sloped than DB's

With T44 i m usually placed higher(2nd,3rd) on the list. With DB i m placed with higher tier tanks (middle of the list). Now with the DB i bounce way more bullets than with the T-44. Is there a explanation for this? Or it's just me?

I think its because T44 armour is more slope LOL, enemy tanks tend to hit the turret rather then the slope which is baad and because of the the T44 being small and low, the enemy bullets either hit the bottom part of the front tank or the turret but rarely the slope unlike 3002DB the slope is just enough.

the turret have a nice sloped design + more armor, so they should bounce even more if they shoot for the turret.

There is a good calculator for relative armor values at Panzer World. You have to know the slope of the armor from the horizontal (not the vertical) in order to figure out what the actual armor equivalent is. Sometimes an extreme slope is not as good as a less extreme slope. At least that is what I found when I did some of the numbers.

Well you are placed higher due to the T-44 being a tier higher.

That's not the point of this post.

I think in battles there is a great deal of randomness and perceptions involved. How about testing with a friend in training room?

Right, but if you're in a higher tier, you're facing better guns, meaning you're going to bounce less.

actually with T-44 i get placed with lower tier tanks than with the DB. DB bounce a lot of shots u can test it u're self if u don't believe me

I have a DB.  It does OK, but Pz IV and T-34-85+ can nail it head-on.  Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not, but the armor stops being reliable with tier 5 tanks.

Yes, only if 34-85 have the 100mm gun, otherwise they mostly bounce. Specially if u place u're tank in a position that improves u're slope.(i don't remember the tactic's name). Anyway it might be just my impression and i really wanna test it with somebody in training room, but i didn't find anybody which wanna help me :P

I'd put the T44 and the Mercedes(DB) two of the top tanks at bouncing shots in the game.

I know I bounce more off my DB than I do my Panther.  (I don't have a T44)  Why?  Who knows, Thinking that maybe your T44 is getting shot at by bigger guns than your DB?  So it seems like the DB is bouncing more shots...when actually the shots are smaller and easier to bounce.  Depends on how you play the DB and T44.

well here is the irony. With T44 i m placed with lower tier tanks than with the DB.
