As happy as i am that its taken off, im concerned the parts aren't even mapped properly yet and people are wasting heeps of time skinning this model which is going to change in the coming weeks! I'll make it up to everyone though i'll release a UV map of the parts locations to help the skinners convert their designs.
Worst thing is becuase these sites just take it upon themselves to post these models, i have no way of communicating this to everyone.
I think in future i may wait until its more complete before releasing.

Yep, Mule had this same issue with his mesh-skirted Pz3... mirtankov just nabs a link and leaves it at that, even if it's broken or WIP. Well, their loss for not coming along to put in a good word on the threads!

Right little update on the progress we're making:
-Objects now use independant textures (not shared like before - skinners knightmare)
-Camo now works on the whole tank, including the new parts
-Shine and Bump maps now work with both new and old parts
-Crash model has been made.
known-issues:
-105mm wont be added as i cant edit the Gun models
-The new textures are now much larger than other models in game which may cause slow down on some older machines
-Causes types to appear more often in game.
Once skinned and tested we should be ready to update the main post with the latest version, here's some eye candy to keep you ticking over:

Short Question only. Do you maybe thinking about a Canvas Cover for the Gun Mantlet? I did once one but only via Texture and normalmap and its not that good. :(

Edit: actually the manlet is part of the gun model which i cant currently mod. So unless kyphe does it like you above using bump maps i doubt it'll get done, he's got alot on at the mo.

what about just switching the T54's 100mm gun model on your type ?

I've toyed with the idea, but the camo wont work properly, and that wasn't a compromise i was prepared to make.

I already have a pretty good cloth mantlet lol I'ts on the pic i posted, but I think I may spend some time making a better one.
I can see people have already been using my thermal sleeve idea as well sigh, perhaps I should have posted my skin.
but never mind, I almost have the skirts ready, I would have had them done right now but for a software crash that set me back and drove me nuts.
it may be a good idea to add something to the model which would make it very easy for people to see the difference between the finished version and this current prototype.
I could easily whip up some generic box skins like ammo boxes to add to the turret cage

Still working as hard as we can. Theres at lot of new textures that need some love and its labour intensive work. and i dont want to make the same mistake of publishing it unfinished a second time. From what i've seen Kyphes done some fantastic work, and absolutely worth waiting for!
