Although I reeeeally get a tickle out of Type 59 drivers that don't run WAR. I mean how can you not run equipment in a money making machine? Those things are moving gas canisters.
I prefer to reinforce pros of my Type 59 instead of compensate its cons. And I doing quite well with this set of equipment.

Wet ammo rack is useless and not needed at all. The T-44 does not blow up more often than any other tank unless you're dumb enough to let tier 8+ heavies and TDs shoot through the right side of your hull frequently.

Rammer and ventilation are mandatory. Last slot can either be Stabilizer or Optics/Binocs depending on preference.

It was mandatory to have the WAR in the T44 before 7.0 because its ammorack was really weak back then(trust me, it was crazy).
But in 7.0 the ammo rack of several russian tanks was strengthened and the ammorack of others was weakened.
I took the WAR away and only play with the "Safe Stowage" skill. You can still get ammoracked but it happens not as often as it used to be.

I play mediums with two setups.

1.Setup:
Rammer,Vent, Optics
Repair(6th sense), Camo, BIA/different skills

2.Setup
Rammer, ver. Stab, Optics
Repai(6th sense), Camo, BIA/different skills

Optics is a must have for higher tiered meds. It isn't for spotting earlier but spotting safe. And in combination with Camo this tank becomes invisible. It's really hard to spot a tank with full camo and optics which opens you many paths.
The other skills are nice too but only have this "wow, that's awesome" effect for mediums(not that i dislike this effect :)).

EickhardtSr: You are wrong! :Smile_Default:  If you are on the move and not turning the hull neither the turret, you will see the aiming circle shrinking. Of course not that much when stationary, but Enhanced Gun Laying Drive works when you are on the move.

Andrenas you are wrong. From wotwiki: Enhanced Gun Laying Drive: -9% Aiming Time at all times.

Particularly useful on guns with very long aim times. Highly recommended for Self-Propelled Guns. Use in combination with a Vertical Stabilizer, where available, for maximum aim time reduction.

You get a -1 from me for wrong information.

I'm sorry to hear that. Especialy when I'm quite sure, that I am not wrong.
1. Quote from module description: "-10% Aiming Speed when stationary." It used to be same at Wiki, but obviously was changed recently.
2. We did extensive testing of equipment some 6 months ago. One of the things we proved - EGLD does not work on the move, though it helps if it was only turet-turn. You are welcome to test it again and prove I'm wrong (and I might be - there were at leats 3 updates since then), but until then I will stick to my tried and tested fact.

As per my reply above - nope, it does not. Tested with a very good chronometer.

EDIT: I mean targeting works, but EGLD does not help.

To EickhardtSr and Andrenas:

Sorry, I must admit, you're right. Different info on wiki and in-game confused me. +1 for you.

cant rember getiign ammo racked often in the t-44.

that nto ot say i dotn get them but it's ot say they dotn hamper my gameign fun or enjoymant.

i find an ammo rack is jsuta inconvenace for part of a game nto the hole game.

so i normaly run with gun stabliser, gun layign drive & gun rammer

i find this to suit my needs adacqutly.

i may get safe amm o stoarage asa skill at soem point but it's ntoa piroraty and that jsut a skill i get for al ltank as a defult for my 2nd or 3rd skill if and when i get them.

so no ammo racks dotn bother me at all.
