Hello fellow rockers/metal heads.

As a fan of almost all kind rock and metal music and guitarist (annoys neighbors when drunk) I am constantly looking for new great bands and songs. And I decided to make special thread for this purpose. I hope there is not thread like this before but it is hard find them because words like "Rock" and "Metal" has alternative meaning used commonly on these forums.

In this thread you can tell us about your personal favorite bands/songs, so that can others enjoy them too. :Smile_Default: Preferably songs should be from not so famous band or at least not their biggest hits but these are allowed too.

Also no flaming or insulting other people tastes that kind behavior don't belong here.

Also if you play in a band you can freely promote it here.
Now I kind have start this thread with something so I give you Finnish band Called Heavy Metal Perse. Lyrics are in Finnish so non-Finnish probably loses something but anyway.
Band:Heavy Metal Perse
Album: Eripura
Song: Kauan eläköön kuningas
Link: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=mpMO8PO89A8

You can correct my English if you want, as I am trying improve it so feedback can be helpful

Found these guys a few years ago, they're brilliant :D
I absolutely love Finnish music - Teräsbetoni and Kiuas are two of my favourites.

'Headinge Northe' by Stormwarrior http://www.youtube.c...h?v=NVr6qzfpdas

I have a music portfolio on my computer that would impress even the most musically portfolioed, and most of it is stuff people haven't ever heard of.

Project Pitchfork, although they are darkwave I think you'll enjoy.

Mechanical Moth do some great music.

And here is a little KMFDM for ya.

More to follow.

Sabaton is probably my favourite, as well as Cryonic Temple.

Cryonic Temple.

ooh, they sound good, a bit like a 'less-death-metal-more-power-metal' Mercenary. I shall listen more.

A real metal head praises all types of metal. I do not consider myself a metal head, but as a fan of rock, hard rock, Metal, heavy metal and sometimes speed and trash metal
My love mostly goes to metal from the past, but a few modern ones get my liking

My favorite bands(with favorite song)=
-Mötorhead(enter sandman cover)
-Guns n roses(Welcome to the jungle
-Black sabbath(IRON MAN! HAS  HE LOST HIS MIND! CAN HE SEE OR IS HE BLIND?)
-Metallica (also enter sandman)
-JUDAS PRIEST<3(So hard to choose= Turbo lover, painkiller, a touch of evil)
-Manowar(Warriors of the world)
-led zeppelin(Kashmir)
-Deep purple(child in time)
-alestorm(The sunk'n norwegian)
-Black label society(Funeral bell)
-Scorpions (wind of change)
-Iron maiden (Fear of the dark, run to the hills)

Black and death metal arent really my style. i will listen to it on graspop, but not listen to it when i am at home

Judas priest is one of the bands i listen the most to tough in the end

Topic about great rock bands and NO AC/DC MENTIONED?  Shame, shame.

Here is my 2 cents:

1. AC/DC
2. Queen
3. Led Zeppelin
4. Skyforger (latvian folk-metal band, purely awesome)

Here's some of my favourite rock/metal bands (yeah, there are quite a few Swedish bands :Smile-tongue: ) and their best songs IMO:

Sabaton - Poltava
Hammerfall - Patient Zero
Rammstein - Reise Reise
Iron Maiden - Paschendale
Raubtier - Rebeller (Rebels)
Týr - Hold the Heathen Hammer High
Alestorm - Death Throes of the Terror Squid
Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife
Mustasch - Double Nature
Amaranthe - Hunger
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody/The Show Must Go On (Can't decide :Smile_Default: )

And there are lots more, but I don't want to make a longer list atm :Smile_blinky:

If you are curious, just search for the songs on either youtube or spotify, I can tell you, it's well worth it :Smile_great:

I would give rep to every one but, I cant thanks to limit. :Smile_sad:
Most one were familiar but there were some great new songs too and listening these certainly is not waste of time. Now some more songs I hope at least some of you finds new bands to listen from this thread (I know I have).
First some bands which sing in Finnish.
Band:YUP
Songs: "Joutilas" and second one is "meitä odotellaan mullan alla"
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=-ITh5Ecenwc
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
Band: Raaka-aine
Song: Miehen työ
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
Band: Kotiteollisuus
Song: Jos sanon (This one was actually hard decision which song to take)
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=I4i9gf1dcTM
Band: Stam1na
Song: Lääke (Interesting music video)
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=zSmP8vp8tME
Band: Mokoma
Song: Hei Hei Heinäkuu
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=j3ojpE1BkEQ
Band: Ruoska (often called Finnish Rammstein)
Song: Mies yli Laidan
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
Band: Teräsbetoni
Song: Orjatar (this is less popular song by them but I like it)
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
Then second last one for this post. This is actually parody band from Finnish TV-show Composed and played by Finnish actors not by actual musicians but song is still good :Smile_veryhappy: .
Band: Teräsvilla
Song: Metalliarmeija
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=e72ZvSMmPNA
Now there is some song all sings in Finnish but, I like them. Also I can give some translations if you want.
This already long post I will post my favorite song by Sabaton (see not Finnish this time)
Song: White death (Okay song is about Finnish sniper.)
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

Edit: Already long post So I could not post others but don't worry more will come.

I don't know quite why, but the guitar riff from that reminds me of some of the DW game series soundtracks. I've not heard it before, thanks for the new music!

I am probably stretching the definition of metal here, but I doubt you metal heads who like your music raw and brutal will complain at this one. Combichrist...

Here is some Tanz metal (that's the same kind of stuff of Rammstein) which actually works really well with tanks. Eisbrecher...

Some more metally metal that a lot of folks probably haven't heard of. Omega Lithium...

Since you wanted not very famous bands, I present you:

Machinae Supremacy.
They are Swedish and describe their music as "blend of metal, soundtrack and retro-style video game music".
Here are two of my favourite:
Through the Looking Glass
Edge and Pearl

Machinae Supremacy share the number 1 spot on my personal list with Rhapsody of Fire
From Chaos to Eternity
But please, whatever you do never watch their music videos. They are one of the most horrible I've ever seen.

I'll also post this one by Within Temptation, because I can't get it out of my head for weeks now:
Hand of Sorrow
