Hi guys, I have a question to all the BatChat drivers. I'm currently grinding towards t92, but I feel I like the playstyle of batchat too, cuz it's exactly the opposite of the american spg and i'd have them both. The thing that buggs me about the batchat is the 95 penetration on the standart shells. Is it enough to really do any damage on the tanks? RIght now I'm frustrating myself with the horrid thing called M7 priest, in which I get monstrous amounts of misses and equally that many 0 dmg hits on tiers 7 and above. Thx for info in advance

bat chat did not have AP. thats HE(on standard amno). do you know how HE works?
if not, i will try to explain:
if the HE did not pen the armour, they will make like 1/2 of the damages. But more the armour is huge, more the damages are going to be weak.
not like AP or APCR, or HEAT. theses amno need to pierce for making damages.
So 95 of pen, thats awesome. thats even more of needed to make great damages. if luck is on your side, aim the motor area(really low armour, like generally 40mm), if you pierced, ---> max damages(+ insults sometimes

it's not underperforming, the only annoying thing is the extended reload, it's agonizing to watch your team needing artillerysupport and not being able to give that. The other nerfs are not that big of a deal since it's still really accurate.

Did first 50 battles in this and I kinda like it but....
- it's actually quite slow (GWP like or even slower), after the lorraines this is quite a downturn
- very good in longer drawn out "camper" games and with coordinated teams that wait for reload and then charge/spot, but obviously it has issues in very quick games on smaller maps
- city fighting can be fun yes, but the gun depression is really bad so it has problems overshooting IS series of tanks or all small AMXes
- it is nicely accurate, at least 3 shots out of 4 will do damage regularly, actually starting to wonder if I should aim the first shot different so that I can purposely detrack tanks, then again all heavies and TDs can easily be hit while on the move as well
Nevertheless it offers different playstyle than all other arties and it's therefore quite good fun to drive.
What's your record for kills or damage per clip? I managed 3 kills in 3 first shots in a clip (m103, JT and AMX13/75) immediately after each other , sure all were low health but that's kind of the point of this arty that it can quickly mop up low health tanks while heavier arty will just kill one.

nice explanation. +1 but you forgot to say:
no ennemy on one flank? relocate there, you will surprise more than one camper and you will avoid counter arty for your firsts shots(they would not think you were there)
