love the map, but never get why in most games the top tanks, or half the team (always my team it seems) decide to go into the chokepoint on the left side, they don't go there to defend it, they always try and push through it, and very very rarely succeed, the other team always ends up sitting there letting our team come to them.
I've always found that trying to attack through "chokepoint fail" will lead to your tank being destroyed by the other team along with anyone else trying to push through, and always find the center or through the town being the best option for attack.
anyone else find themselves banging their head against the desk as you're watching your team go running off towards chokepoint fail to die 1 by 1 trying to push through or is it just me?
and if you are one of the ones who always try to attack through it, why?

yep the slowest tanks go uphil allong the side and two destroyers can hold them up together with arty also most of the time they are afraid to push and will wait for arty to finnish them off

It's just like Fools Corner on Arctic Region...it's a perfect killzone for defenders (I've gotten Top Gun defending both places), and yet people seems to think that this time they'll survive!
I'd like to hear from some those who thinks that going over the top, one by one, is a great tactic (Here's a pro-tip: IT'S NOT!)

my theory with the valley of death on lakeville is the following:
bad players hate the though of flanking/getting flanked ..
if you take the cliff road, chances are high that you'll be fired upon from the town.
if you move to town you have lots of narrow streets and corners and always have to keep an eye on enemy positions to avoid getting flanked.
but the valley of death is different .. there's only one direction - forward. if you'll get shot, you'll get shot only from the front. and no matter how many guns are pointing at them, no matter how many tanks before them got one-volleyed, this thought gives bad players solace.

My last game there we had two ISU-152s, both armed with BL-10s, guarding the Valley of Death from the north side with two GW Panthers also having an arc of fire on it, and a KV-3 and an M6 still thought pushing over the top where no-one could support them was the best thing to do. It's still nowhere near as bad as The Corner of Fail on Arctic, though.

Yes I don't see the reason why so many tanks always go to the valley...then so few def city which is a lot faster route to bases. They just camp at the choke point whole battle while the rest of team get slaughtered. I wish more players would check where team goes so team could split up equally on all sides, not 12 tanks one side and rest other even though sometime it works. I'd like to hear why some do these foolish attacks also, maybe they think "yeah I will get through, they won't pen my armor" or something. But anyway I still think its one of the best maps

I had a match this morning on lakevile with t-150. we had a ferdi an e-75 and two t-28 tds all went that way. pretty much everyone else was tier 6. I told them HEY NO NO NO YOU CANT and they were like YES YES YES. in fairness the ferdi did come back when i pointed to this complete failure of cognition, but needless to say we lost having only kvs and amx light tanks to face the likes of vk4502a and lowe etc in the town. Every time i get this map i say valley is defense only at very start but it never seems to do much good. I could honestly put my head through the desk its so stupid

I've got the stage were I just avoid the west side all together. I'll brawl or support in the town, take out anyone coming down the lakeside road and then sweep round the back.
I'm seeing more and more people defending and not pushing however which is a good thing. Good arty can dominate that area.

In 99.9% of games a couple of decent tanks/TDs (out of arc of enemy artillery fire) and a supporting artillery can hold the "valley of death". Sensible players _should_ know which vehicles to defend with...
