Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice on what to buy and possibly sell pls.

I have recently bought the German tier 7 VK3002 (DB) which i have only played a handful of games with but so far am not sure is any good in my hands. What I  was thinking on doing was using some free xp that I have along with the a bunch of other stuff I have already researched and researching both or either of the Panther Tier 7 (to the left in the tree of the VK) and the Tiger Tier 7 ( to the right of the VK). Then selling my recently purchased VK and using the funds to add to what I have to buy both or either of those tanks as they are on sale.

Also looking at future updates and whether or not those parts of the research tree are worth working down?

I love my panther the same way that i love my tiger But if you go further down the line the Tiger2 will be more fun than panther 2 ... imo! I also love my E-50 ... but i think that is too far ^^
But all in all i had better winratio and kill/death with my panther!

If you want to potentially engage in clan wars taking the Tiger > E-100 route will be your best, the E-50 doesn't get used. So if you want to play solo or platoons only take the E-50 route (You can get Panther II for TCs) or if you want some "end game material" go the E-100.

I had to made same desision few months ago, i decided to go up with both Panther and Tiger; and I like both tanks they are good when you learn how to drive them (it is especially hard on tiger - you must use it like a TD with a turret)

You gotta look at the big picture here.

Panther which is crap (but other meds same tier seem to suck too, so its not that bad with broomstick gun) leads to Panther 2 which is awesome, ive had great fun with it, leads to E50 which is awesome for random battles, but is utterly useless in CW (rarely used). Note that E50 is being nerfed in next patch.

Tiger, which is brain-damaging awful leads to Tiger2 which is great in its tier, leads to E75 which is ok for its tier, leads to E100 that is right now the worst and most useless tier 10 tank in game. Also note that E75 is being nerfed in the next patch as well.

So, if you wanna do the reasonable thing, youll simply forget about German tanks and move on.

Soviet heavy tanks are jack of all trades, leading to very good IS7 and IS4 (both choices are OK). Russian mediums are so-so with only t54 worth something (IMO at least) others being a giant suffering and brain-damaging experience (like Tiger 1).

Played US meds only a few times, dont wanna comment on those, will tell you that Patton is not the most wanted medium for CW. US heavys are joke bordering brain-damaging experience from T1 over M6 to T29 which is awesome, the best tier 7, leading to T32 which is utter crap, worst tier 8, leading to M103 (OKish) and T110 hands down the best tank in game.

According to your 7.3 stats you haven't bought the 3002... If it was in the 7.4 test you should put a gold 100% crew on it and try some more. I found it a good medium, very bouncy as an opponent. But if you want more than Tier 7, it doesn't go any where.  

Reading SmellyOne' opinions I am pretty much the opposite for all the tanks he hated. Which just goes to show, peoples opinions suck. You won't know till you try it. Until you have 100+ battles on it and a 100% crew, you won't know anyway.

Want a T7 German tank? Get a Tiger P.

Tiger is not awesome but does the job, with the recent armor changes, mantlet fix and damage buff to long 88 it's an enjoyable tank I think.

Panther IMO is garbage. Gun is good but top engine is just way too weak, top speed is good but otherwise this tank is less agile than the Tiger except for reverse speed. This tank would be awesome if it had special map rotation limited to Malinovka Prokhorovka and Province. If you have 0 experience with other T7 meds it might look alright. But after T20 and even the nimble VK-DB Panther is junk. Really tried to like it but it fails.

I had both of them. Tiger H is better.

I sold my Panther for Panther II and it's way much better. But it depends on your playstyle. I like meds and I'm better with them.

Anyways, I recommend Tiger H.

I only have Tiger H on RU server, so my opinion is purely based fighting AGAINST these tanks.

Tiger H is quite good once elite: agile, great gun, but the armor is simply terrible! You only bounce tier 5 and BELOW guns, unless you are lucky, and that really SUCKS. It still gives a very nice sniping platform though!
Tiger P is simply better than H: slightly slower, but has superior armor (actually dings stuff frontally), has the same top gun and performs just as well in sniping role, but can also brawl if needed.

The catch is that you get Tiger II and E-75 from Tiger H, both AMAZING tanks that dominate the battlefield.
Tiger P goes into VK4502A and VK4502P, both 'alright' tanks, but much weaker than their counterparts on the H side...
You also end up with E-100, a tank that OWNS low tiers and struggles with high tiers, or Maus, which seems to be kind of underpowered with all the hyper penetrating guns on the field right now...

As for the mediums, I fear Panther much more than VK-Db, as panther simply has a much better gun (does less damage but penetrates MUCH more and is way more accurate). But panther is quite a lot slower than DB and doesn't have great armor either....

If I had to choose 1 of them all, I'd go with tiger H - it is fun elite and leads to amazing tanks (E-75 is a monster when top tier). 2nd choice would probably be panther, as I love sniping stuff, but low damage per shot might get annoying very fast.

The vk ausf.b seems to be kinda bad^^

I would recomment you to buy the tiger p when you can, elsewise i would recomment you the panther cause the tiger h is not that gereat in my eyes (i love to kill them with my t49 when i can ;) )
btw. the jagdpanther is also a great t7 german tank

I bought the Tiger...Took some learning but have lots of fun and earn good money....It helps when shells dont cost a 1000 each...!!!!

Tier 7 german tanks are all quite good tbh, but very different. VK3002 is a brawler and bounces a lot, Panther is a sniper. Tiger H is agile, Tiger P has much better front armor but feels a bit like a turtle to me (had it only on test server). Both Tigers have the epic 88mm which can penetrate (from the side ofc) every Tier 10 and is super accurate.

But yes, there is also the big picture. Tier 8 in Germans is also very good. Love Tiger 2 and Panther 2, my friends love VK A (still griding to it).

Tier 9: E50 is good but not used in CW. VK B is terrible, but E75 is quite good. Only have E50 and I like it.

Tier 10: Maus is good and used in CW, E100 is bad and is not. Have none of them.

So you can't do anything really wrong when you stay on Tier 7 and Tier 8, if you want to go to higher tiers I would select your choice based on the tank you want to reach.

My personal favorite BTW is Tiger H, just have a look at my signature.... Only Tier 7 I still own besides AMX 13 90.

Well before I say anything else …. My recommendation is that you don’t sell tanks before they fully kitted and have a 100% crew. Not until that you will know if it’s a tank that you like or not. So take it easy enjoy the game and learn the tank. (EXCEPT for the AMX 38 and 40….. just don’t bother with these tanks….)

The VK3002DB is one of my own personal favorites as well as my Tiger H. The VK3002DB is a bit of a strange bird in the German tree. It’s a pretty fast medium brawler and it reminds some of the Panzer III/IV. It has sloped armor good agility but a little bit weak gun. You adept to the enemies in this tank. If you top tire you can brawl and break through like a spear head. If you low you can scout or snipe. Well played you can take on most things in this little warhorse.

The TigerH has a bad reputation in the game and trust me… as it was in the Beta it was next to useless. But since then many things has changes and it can stands its own against any other tire 7 tank. It has a great gun and as a sniper you can take on pretty much anything and expect to make a lasting impression.

The TigerP have I not played so cant say anything about it.

The Panther is a traditional German sniper. And a great tank if you like to stand as far back as you can.

So the future… well first of all it is said that the TigerII, E75 and E100 will be nerfed in next patch. And this is really not needed. The TigerII and E75 are great tanks able to brawl, snipe and be spearheads. How bad the nerf will affect them are still to be seen.

So what path to take?

Panther->PantherII->E50
This line gives you pretty fast decent armored tanks with great guns for sniping. The backdraw is that they are Huge and easy to see. They don’t bounce so much and since they so god dam fast you always have a risk to be to far ahead. They probably best as sniping tanks.

TigerH->TigerII->E75->E100
This line gives you tough all around tanks, able to take on most roles in the game.  But with the big guns they might want closer fights when you get to E75 and E100.

TigerP->AusfA->Ausf.B->Maus
What can I say… it leads to the famous mouse. With one exception these has a really though front armor. You sacrifice speed and agility and in return you get some of the best frontal armor in the game. These often the spearhead of the invading force and never underestimate a mouse…

Whatever line you take… Good luck out there… You will need it. Cause my very personal impression is that’s its harder to play a German tank well then many of the other countries.

Hi guys,

Sorry to bump the thread a bit but wanted to make sure I say thanks a lot to all of you who replied for your advice, info and opinions. Plenty to think about   I picked up the Tiger H but haven't played it much to form a decent opinion, plus its fairly stock atmo, with the sale being on it felt like as good a time as any to give it a go.

Thanks tho for all those that took the time to throw me some help, will def be back when i have to make any other big(-ish)......well for me anyway....purchases

You like meds go for panther/panther2/E50
You like heavies try tigerH or better turn back and buy/research TigerP.You will find it useful!!

The Tiger H has a terrible reputation and back in beta it was horrendous and would catch fire or lose it's ammo or multiple modules every shot, it was especially infuriating with lack of repair kits and fire extinguisher. Now it's a very well balanced tank, it takes awhile to get used to but it has had nothing but buffs and is a great tank. It leads to the Kingtiger which is a brilliant vehicle with good armour and a well rounded gun.

The Panther is a little bit of an oddity and it is a brilliant sniper with a high penetration, rapid fire and accurate gun. The downside to this is the Panther has terrible damage should you get forced into a peek a boo situation where it cannot exploit it's rate of fire. The Panther II is a Panther that's a little tougher in all respects but it also carries the 88 l/71 that the Tiger has for a top gun so it has good damage per shot. It's a great sniper but can do most things fairly well.

Good thing about them is they share a lot of modules so if you later go for the Panther you'll have an easier time with it.
