Just 2 questions: what HE change, and only tier 6+ have alto loader and rest, just have fast guns or what?
The HE change was when WG changed HE shells so that instead of causing insane HP damage against otherwise invulnerable targets, they now cause pretty significant module damage instead aswell as some HP damage.
And yes only tier 7 and 8 artillerys will have the autoloaders while the others will follow the rapid fire but low damage per shot doctrine.

Thing I love about french SPG is, that theese are basicly gloryfied Scout tanks with a huge hitting Lol-cannon.
I play theese as scouts, as ARTY camo value is the highest camo value you can get on tanks when standing still. can basicly sit in the open and not be seen unless they get really close, if youre ina bush. Double-bush bushes makes you invisible. Then its all about crew ability, and having nerves enough not to pull the trigger. And if, If you end up in the situation you get spotted, or a light gets up close, you just fire and one hit kill any scout tank, and severly cripple a medium tank and run away like no tomorrow. wich makes theese one of my favourite tanks.
French SPG are the only SPG that are actually hilariusly fun to play in urban maps.

You haven't played a single arty, how can you even be a fair judge about what is good or not in an arty?
EDIT: Ah, the hit and run neg-rep, the sign of a demolished argument.

1. I have several hundred games in arties. If you stalk my profile (lol), at least do it right.
2. Since when do i need experience in a tank to see what it does on the battlefield compared to others of its class? I dont have to be an engineer to tell which of two cars is faster, neither do i have to be the driver, you know?
3. There is no need for 3, except i was to lazy to elaborate the negrep, but since you insist, here you go.
Cheers mate. We all make mistakes. Sometimes you, sometimes not the others.
To elaborate my point: Arties with the mobility of fast meds feels just wrong. These tanks carry guns that shoot shells as big as kegs. Making them that fast is about as realistic as the t50/2 turning on a dime and furthermore gives them (imho) too big advantage in survivability, in city maps and last not least on almost every endgame situation.
Edit: I just come from a game in which i saw a Lorr155 fuckin CHASE a batchat, if thats not ridiculous, i dont know what is...

Actually no Exocet is correct, until you have driven one you can't really judge. I used to think the IS4 was overpowered when I first hit the higher tier games until I got in one and discovered its really not that good. It also might come as a bit of a shock to you, you may want to sit down...mobility is what french tanks do. Seriously all french tanks have almost no armour and loads of speed, thier SPG's are no different. However unlike our Lights/Meds/Ect the french Spg's get a fair bit less alpha compared to other nations when you hit tier 6 and up. So you need to ask yourself whats more important in an arty considering you'll be spending most of the game stationary shooting stuff far away:
1: Being able to do 60 on a flat surface
2: Hitting stuff harder
Oh and if you see a Batchat being chased by a Lorr it's because hes a poor driver that forgot to have shells ready, I've chased a few french tanks in my GW Panther and Hummel when I know thier empty. More often than not they'll go hide in a corner while reloading and assume that I'll be too afraid to brawl in my Spg.

But you DO need experience. If you don't, you only see one aspect of it, and not all the other player does to make sure you get hit.
What you see if not the entire picture.
And that car analogy is irrelevant, this is a game with dozens of factors, not a timed race. In fact, I can counter your analogy by telling you that the choice of diver matters, and if you put an F1 driver in a normal car, and a senile old lady in a supercar, the normal car would win. But that wouldn't mean the normal car was faster than the supercar, would it?
