Add a map filter the option to filter out 3 maps max would be great for say those days you want play arty (bye bye himmle, ensk, ruinsbergs) etc. Also to balance this they would need to balance it so the filter does not work in Company or Clan warz as for platoon I don't see the problem if only the platoon commanders filter list is active 3 maps removed instead of say max 9 if all 3 players had maps filtered. I personal don't mind any of the maps ingame sure there are some I like more then  others but that's normal.

Finally for those that say well this map is bad that map is bad it's the players own inability to use there brains that make the maps unplayable take campanovika for example when you see 80% of your team camping in your base behind a rock or a building it ruins the game for you I had 1 game on this map recently that stands out I spawned on the south base in my is7 I was top tank as im leaving my base i notice all the heavys tanks on my team are camping in base so I wonder up the hill with a t54 and m26  slowly the enemy trickle up 1 by 1 so we kill them we got 7 in the end 4 of them tier 9 and then I die quickly followed by omg noob is7 retard noob uninstall etc etc yet i've killed 4 while all that time 11 tanks are hiding in my base will they rush nope 1 by 1 my team dies and they kill nothing not 1 kill for 11 deaths so im the noob right? yeah ok when they made these maps they didn't account for people's lack of braincell's.

Filter.

It's just strange releasing a game like this without such a basic feature. :Smile_amazed:

Well, it's not, strictly speaking, a full game yet.

It has released though, has it not? Last time I checked, most shooters tend to have at least a basic filter system, and this is a shooter despite their best efforts to call it otherwise.

The issue with bigger maps is the limited view range of 707 meters due to engine limitations (http://wiki.worldoft...nics#Visibility). if they manage to fix that issue, then there would be a point in making bigger maps.

so be it, then we cant see everything. All they have to make sure is that you have SOME obstacles around. Its more about the fact that maps should offer more size so you can actually get around positions attacking the enemy from the rear or what ever without always being forced to attack everyone head on. The chance is very high that regardless where you move you will have at leats 2 people in front of you because the maps are so small that 5 people can move to the right, left and the center.

If there really is something that I find boring in WoT then it are the maps. There are sure many issues they have to fix or rework. But I can deal with those. But the maps ... they get more and more with each update. But I really have trouble to see the difference in those. Particularly when you compare the maps to each other. They have either a big hill, or lake or what ever in their midle or to the right which is blocking a huge part of the map which could be used in some way. Not to mention they seem to lack creativity sometimes when they do maps. How about maps where you have some tunnel here and there? Why do almost ALL maps follow this left, right, center approach which basically leaves you with 3 attack routes (some maps have even only 2 really good ones). Why cant there be a map where you have somewhere a very narrow passage where only scouts could fit trough? And so on.

They didnt even made new maps for the so called "new game mode" which is nothing else then different spawn locations ...

If you introduce a filter then everyone will be forced to filter the same maps, regardless of what class of tank they play, because the balance will be so screwed on the least popular maps.

Random battle is random.  Get over it.

We have enough people available for balance to be equal across all maps, regardless of popularity, or is their system THAT poorly designed?

This feature has been suggested right from the start of testing, and it is conspicuous by it's absence. The biggest issue WG have with the maps is the combination of engine limitations with the view range and zero creativity in level design. There was also a thread about weighted-procedural map generation the other day, so there is obviously some acknowlegement from the player-base here that they are bored and/or frustrated with the current situation.

There is no balance when a vast majority dislike the same maps.

Nah, whenever there is enough maps to exclude from there is no problem. There is 30 maps after 7.4 and if you could only exclude 2-3 maps then there will be no problem.

Have you seen the poll asking for best/worst maps. It is divided quite equally.

And there is no problem in exclude when it wouldn't work in TC and when platooning the platoon leader filter would be used.

I didn't like Komarin first but there is so many ways to play it. Just because of the starting positions and the middle island fighting.

Sad. R.I.P.

It's exactly why the concept overall is a bad idea.

If you can't handle a rotation of 20 something maps of which you don't like 3.  Well boo hoo for you.

Next time you go out for lunch order your meal and then order some other food you really hate, that makes you feel ill, and eat that as well /Facepalm!

It will take them decades to make a filter so they do it the easy way. Just remove a few maps here and there and add some other dumb maps

But the map selection is random as it's a game and in a restaurant i choose my food. I don't see how you can get an online game striving for balance confused with ordering a meal at a restaurant.

Is anyone noticing a need to create 2 classes of maps? Like random/universal (fun and playable even in random, with idiot, uncoordinated teams) and TC/CW maps? I had really great matches on Province, Swamp, Komarin, Malinovka, but none of the fun (maybe with little exception of malinovka), good ones where on random mode. All in TC.

One map i really, really, really hate is Dragon Ridge to be honest. I like the setting, overall views but not the gameplay, it just sucks as much as hell in comfort. It is especially seen on randoms. Then it sucks even worse.
