Message from event organiser (KharneUK):
So you like World of Tanks? You like competing in World of Tanks tournaments? And winning some nice in game rewards?
How about meeting the people you are competing against? Meet fellow tank platoons and chat over a beverage in a bar maybe, or just pop by each others seat and talk strategy and tank loadouts?
If all of this sounds good to you, and you are in the UK or able to travel to the UK then you might like this idea: WoT at the Insomnia Gaming Festival!
Here is a brief description of the event from our site (Taken from http://iseries.multi...i46/event-info/)
“So, what is the Insomnia Gaming Festival, or iSeries as it’s known? Well, fundamentally Insomnia is a gaming event for all ages, where gamers come together to celebrate games in all its forms.
The next event is i46 which runs from 24 Aug – 27 Aug 2012. The event, held 3 times a year at The International Centre in Telford, accommodates over 3000 gamers for 5 days; it’s certainly grown from it’s humble beginnings of no more than 50 all playing off one 10mb switch!
In the last 14 years we have ran over 120 LAN events, given away over £420,000 in prize moneyand welcomed over 85,000 gamers through our doors! In the Winter of 2011, our insomnia 44 video coverage of the event topped 2.2 million views!
Back when the series was first launched, the emphasis was very much on the low latency aspect of gaming. Now of course, low latency is no longer the primary reason to attend a LAN, and the social and indeed competitive aspect of the events have become much more at the forefront of why people attend, evolving the LAN into a Festival that celebrates gaming in all its forms.”
The idea of this post is to gauge interest and see if the community responds well, and we might be able to get a 5v5 or 7v7 WoT tournament at the event! Prizes will include large amounts of in game gold, and likely some cash as an added incentive to win.
Tickets for BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) are £92 each, this includes free camping, and gets you into the venue from Friday 9am, until Monday at 4pm. The venue is open 24 hours so you can game all night if you can handle it! With this ticket you get your own seat, a table, a power connection and network connection (with really good internet connectivity!).
Post here if you would consider bringing a team to compete at Insomnia46, should we put on a WoT tournament at the event. Also get your friends to do the same - if you can get 4 or 6 friends to join you then let us know in this thread! We would love to get World of Tanks at the event and have our first “LAN” tournament in the UK for this awesome game, we just need to figure out if there is the demand!

I take it there's no WoT tournament at the event then?
I believe they are planning to run some test tournament at the event, but nothing official. Just to see what sort of interest they get, so please go along and push for tanks if you are planning to go

Hmm. Might be interesting. Could see if I could round up a team of -AX- to go...

Hey, just wondering if anyone else is going to this? If so I'll be there and am without a team so if anyone needs a player then I'm more than willing to fill a slot (Chaffee, T20, M18, M36, M41).
