I thought i'd share a guide i found that deals with the difference between the term Noob, and newb. Many think it's the same, but contrary to popular belief it is not.

Since we now have the XvM mod, its easier to distinguish between the two. ;)

Newb

A term used to describe a inexperienced gamer/person/etc. Unlike a noob, a newb is someone who actually wants to get better.

Noob

A noob is a person who really sucks at a game but refuses to learn/listen to people who are skilled. Many of them may have been playing the game for a while, but still suck at it. They usually have no hope.

Could you elaborate on nub and newbie? I really need to know the differences.

as such i find most folks that call other noob, are infact noobs them selves but cant admit it.

hmm ok with that logic i must be a noob too... darn it. foiled by my own logic..

Once newbie/newb and noob meant different things. Now they pretty much mean the same thing.

People just either think they are the same word as they seem similar or just because noob is used so much people take it up and use it for everything.

I also liked to differentiate between noob and newb but people write dictionaries, not the other way around.

Ahh, after playing WOT I thought that "N00B team" meant, "We lost the match because of You, YOU are to blame not me"

Interesting. I always thought "noob" was an onomatopoeic spelling of zombie groans, because in my experience it is almost exclusively uttered by "dead" players in the chat.

So many players say "noob" without having a faint idea what it means...

For example: Im at Malinovka with ISU, turned the whole battle around from lose, attacked enemy base alone having 8 kills by then and shot down enemy artillery. After that our artillery starts yelling at me" noob noob noob noob isu noob isu noob your noob noob isu" just because he also wanted to shoot that arti but didnt get his kill (that would have been his first in the battle btw..)  
Strangely most of the players like this arti player was drive Tiger tanks and shout noob at ppl having more kills than they do.

OMG just put "worldoftankshop" on the bad word filter list to get rid of those bots...

My first ever battle in the A13 mark 2, tier 3 british light tank, and I get called a noob by an enemy who I killed. I have a replay of it here:

I do admit that I did not do significantly well, but being called a noob by an enemy who I killed seems a bit harsh and weird, right? And anyway, if he calls me a noob for killing me, then what does that make him?

noobs are the ones that are showed with red color in my xvm, and i lose all hope and trust to a game where our top tier tank has 17k battles and 700 efficiency... those guys just refuse to learn the game.
