The M5 stuart is a nice tank, but has some flaws. Good speed, good acceleration, good hp, good radio, good view range. But i find the gun lacking. so, here's my idea:
Take the 57mm from the M8A1, and make it a side unlock you can get after the 75mm howitzer. Who's with me?

So it'd basically be a copy of the M8A1? How about no.

The M5 isn't supposed to fight other tanks like the M8A1. It's restricted to the role of scouting, and killing arty when the opportunity arises. So I don't think that buff is going to happen.

110mm pene on Tier 4 light tank is way too much. Thats more than FR and German TD have...

Light tanks:
Germany - 67mm pene
USSR - 75mm pene
French - 74mm pene

I wish, the 75 howitzer used to be fun before the HE nerf. now it cant hurt anything. BUT if you give it the 57mm whats the point of the M8A1? As the M5 will have better speed/agility and hp.

I would give it a gun that looks like the T-50 gun, 75 pen 75 damage and nice RoF

..or the entire HE nerf could just be reversed.

M5 is a good scout teaching you how to avoid trouble before you move into the Chaffee. It's fine the way it is as it's a training tank basically.  Getting the Chaffee without understanding how to avoid trouble would make the it difficult to handle and you'd see to many players trying to use it as a sniper or something just as bad.

I thought it was a fabulous little vehicle and even with the HE nerf I still managed to fatally surprise some opponents :) Your point is well taken however, it teaches you some very important skills (assuming this is your first foray into scouting) and stands you in good stead for the M24. I fought 102 battles in the M5 to unlock the Chaffee and although there was a learning curve I never felt as if it needed a buff.

Derp all the way.

I agree took me a few more battles, gave up first time sold it but recently went back for another go, this time I got it and ended with a 58 WR. Chaffee unlocked last night after winning 6 out of the last 7 battles in the M5 :)

M5 has terrible speed slower than all its counter parts.

I voted "NO". Basically because I did not feel anytime that this tank is underpowered in any condition. Derpgun is a nice addition to it, when you are on the top with KV-1's etc. you own with this little howitzer. When you are in high tier battles, there's no point to shoot anyways, passive scouting is your job and you get load of exp anyways.

I voted No. I hated my 15 match grind in this, but every now and then I see an experienced M5 driver and am amazed at what it can do.

Today I was in my T32 and an M5 was there as scout (which is why I hated it) except that he wasn't scouting, we both went to defend the sloped road in the centre of Abbey from a Pershing and a Lorraine, I asked him if he was insane, he said no and promptly took a massive chunk off the Lorraine HP. He scuttled back real quick and popped up from behind me (being hull down and targetting the Pershing) to dish some damage. In the end I reckon he took over 1500 hp of both of those tanks with his tiny Derp Gun.

I,m going to say also no the current M5 is perfect. It is capable of taking on everything on it's tier and some tanks from tier above not counting arty of course.

Maybe they could give it more ammo. I tend to run out on low tier matches (2 of them so far and I ran out in both :P)

it think it have an good attack power, i killed 1 hetzer with 2 shoots and 1 marfer with 1 shoot, what he lacks is travesse speed on is tracks, but thats part of the weak points and strong points of this tank

The only problem for M5 is matchmaking... and i vote for removing second turret (opened at top) and 75mm howitzer from this tank because are real parts of M8A1 or M8 Scott!!

When MM gets it fighting its own tier the 75mm gun work awesomely, i have had top guns with it.

When MM piuts you way way at the bottom of the tiers you dont need a gun, you need a camo net and some binocs, and a good spot, maybe later in the game you can go hunt the weak or if needed back to base to use that handy HE round to reset.

I do not think M5 need a buff or a new weapon. It is a decent light tank which has 2 role depending on MM:
1) If M5 is a "top dog" or when top tiers are tier 5 tanks - 75mm is good enough. It use HE rounds, so M5 can deal damage to any tank on battlefield, and most of them can be penetrate from side or rear. Other light tanks can be even killed by "one shot".

2) When M5 fight against tier 8/9 tanks - forget about shooting (you can shoot only to arty) - binos, commo net and M5's job is passive scouting and spooting for HT using bushes and terrain (for active scouting M5 IMO is to slow)

- beside this M5 has better MM than other LT tier 4 like Leo or T-50 (M5 battle tiers 4-10, others 6-10), so it is more often than the others on the top of the list.
- M5 is albo a great "school" before M24 Chaffee and IMO all who would like to use M24 should before it play M5 for about 150 battles.

I liked play M5 (now it is sold and its the crew is in M24) - I had fun from the game (my WR on M5 is about 52% - so not so bad)

Well, the M5 looks a lot less impressive than tier 5 tanks of other nations. I managed to chase down a M5 in my M4, he did increase the distance in a straight line but I caught up thanks to the massive speed bleed in corners. The howitzer didn't save the tank either. I guess it really shines in a tier 3 - 4 match. Or if the commander is really good.
