Once the game is live....

Given that once I have bought gold to get up to my T-44 quicker than the estimated three months (for me).. Once I am there will I have to spend gold just to keep it going?

I ask cos I am T-43 and am just about breaking even, (i would assume that at higher tiers I would be losing credits on repairs and ammo). Do I need to be buying gold just to keep my tank on the road?

I dont mind (I suppose) spendng money to 'buy' the game but then am I going to have to pay just to keep playing?

depends on your playstyle and how well you go in a round, i do know that repair bill for T44 is arround 15k, so you do the math..

if u can't get a profit with T-44 use u're lower tier tanks to make some cash. T34-85, A-20 are good money makers

In other words if you have only your T-44 and you aren't lucky enough to win most of the fights yes you won't have money to pay up the repair bills.  :Smile_harp:

This goes for any tank, lets say you get to IS-7, then paying to just keep your tank going is this how the game will work?

It's what I gather, but only for the highest tiers. Tier 1-6 will pretty much always run a profit.

Me I'll probably always run premium, keep working on and towards some new tank to add to the collection. If the prices don't change too much from Russian release, then it should be 10-15$/€ per month for premium and some extra gold maybe, which is like any other MMO type game.

If you aren't making money in a T-43 it will probably be difficult to make money in a T-44 because the T-44 costs a bit more to repair...

I like the T-43, it's currently my primary tank (until I get another couple hundred thousand creds to get T-44). I generally come out with 20-30k on an average game (keep in mind, I do have premium, but you figure how much it would be without prem, I would be making 13k-20k on an average game, so it shouldn't be too difficult to come out somewhat ahead...

But yes, premium definately makes your life a lot easier, so I am planning on paying for it after release (provided it is not outrageously expensive).

P.S. A tip I have for using the T-44.... (purely from speculation, as I don't have it yet), stick with the 100mm D1OT. The shells cost 1/4 the price of the 122mm, and also deal slightly higher dps.

Just spend gold for a premium account, there is no need to spend gold for other stuff...

I've just recently purchased a T-44 and after roughly 4 days I ended up selling it (fully upgraded). It was a disaster that the Tiger is but x2 for me, every round would knock out a module or kill a crew member, on the final day before selling it ammo rack was hit 3/4 battles, I had a spall liner on it but didn't seem to do much when it came to module damage and crew deaths. I just couldn't handle it anymore it became way more frustrating than the Tiger was when I had it long ago. Got an IS instead and loving it.

Not saying this is an issue since I don't see many posts complaining about it but that tank was by far the worst I've driven in this game. And I've been trough the full German and Soviet heavy line and half the German medium. Hope you don't have my luck :Smile_honoring:

t44 is a hell of a grind to upgrade though. Much like the panther, even though the panther (imo) is harder.

I sold my T43 for a T44 yesterday.

With premium the T43 was making a massive profit and I would not believe it to be to difficult to run that tank without premium and still break even. It really is a very enjoyable tank to play and I look forwards to playing it again in retail.

The T44 without any upgrades is for all intents and purposes a T43. Same HP , same speed , similar dmg and plays identically. Not played enough to get any upgrades yet but on a good round with premium I get over 1K exp and make profit of 10K credits on average. Been detracked a few times and had some module dmg but it is not as crippling as the Tiger was pre wipe imho. I doubt I will find it that difficult to fully upgrade with the exp I am gaining each round, have already researched D10T on the T43 so that is a free upgrade after turret.

With a premium account the T44 would easily turn a tidy profit and be a lot of fun to play as well.

Without premium I believe it would be difficult to turn a large profit but breaking even should be just about doable as long as you do not go crazy and suicide to often by attacking entire opposition team alone. Using lower tanks to fund a T44 would not be too horrendous and my best credit earner was a VK3601, not played much arty but I know they earn a fortune.

P.s. The best use of gold is spending 2500G to get a months premium. After that you can play any tank and make a profit as well as getting boosted exp. In retail using gold for any other method is an inefficient use of your money and I will be only using G for premium

Wet ammo rack is mandatory on a T44. Makes it a lot better to play with.

I second this.  I tried out the 122mm for a bit.  It's nice.  You'll one shot A LOT of tanks, but it takes forever to reload.  Long enough that you wont be able to take advantage of a tank you might track with it.  Also I stopped trying to hunt down scouts because of the ammo price.  You have to come out of a battle without a scratch to make money, and that is while using premium.  100m D10T is the way to go.

I use my T34 for fund the T44.  It gets put in a lot of battles (Tier 5 and under) where it can just clean house.  One good round in it will allow 2 major failures (1 shot by arty) in the T44.

For a fast and agile tank and rapid gun is suitable. 100mm is recommended for T44 by almost all T44 players.

This seems to be a nice advantage to a lot of the russian tanks. When you updrade to a new tank its not much of a step backward unlike most of the german tanks.
