Go4WoT 53 – Game of the Day
Go4WoT set another benchmark this week for the ESL in World of Tanks. Those that tuned into SNE’s twitch TV stream were able to finally watch the Go4WoT 53 in glorious HD quality with live professional World of Tanks games for 5 hours straight! Before I give us a rundown of what I think was the series of the day between SD Lemming Train and the might of the Evil Pandas, I would like to thank SNE of the ESL for his great commentary and the community that tuned in and spammed the chat with me for a really fun evening!
First of all, the teams:
S-D
Saevok (T32), Marcin1xD (AMX50 100), emigma266 (T32), xPeter (T32), TwoBlades (AMX 13 90), Snip_ (Bison), Kaswob (T1)
EPS
NewMultyShow (AMX50 100), Carmon (T32), Ejs (T32), Tomasz265 (T32), xinef (AMX 13 90), 100lec (Bison), Sony43 (T1)

Game 1:
The heavy and light AMX tanks from EPS powered straight for the lower ramp in the middle of the map to the west of the abbey. There they lurked, trying to spot what S-D’s move would be. One EPS T32 started to head to the middle to back them up but ended up hanging back whilst the other two T32s moved toward the far eastern ledge to cut off any flanks.
It turned out that EPS hadn’t go it right at all when the AMX 13 90 of S-D burst through on the east side of the abbey at top speed! It was followed closely behind by their mighty T32s throwing a hail of fire at the EPS rear line. The noble T1 light of EPS was all that stood in their way and it didn’t last long as it was ripped apart by AMX fire. However it was able to give an advance warning to EPS and they reacted with similar lightning speed, turning to face the danger with a calm determination.
What ensued next was a heavy fire fight where no tank was left undamaged but none fatally so. The AMX team of EPS and the sustained fire of T32s had managed to halt the S-D rush and cut off their AMX 13 90. As S-D fell back to regroup, the AMX50 100 and AMX 13 90 of EPS pushed through the middle eastern side of the abbey and caught the S-D tanks unaware, unleashing a rain of fire from the two auto loader turrets killing the majority of the S-D.
S-D’s AMX 13 90 came back for a very brave flank and did a lot of damage but it was too little too late and the first game went to EPS.
Game 2:
As the game started there was a clear show of respect from both teams for each other in chat, both teams wishing good luck to the other. EPS mirrored their start from game one in the belief that their superior skills would be able to save them again from any surprises, but S-D wouldn’t fall for the same trick twice!
This time S-D split their force and looked to take advantage of the complacency of EPS, catching them in a pincer movement. The AMX50 100 was caught in the middle of the map and finished off despite a T32 of EPS blocking shots from the hungry tanks of S-D. First blood to S-D.
As the two T32s of EPS scrambled back from the west side of the map, the S-D team finished off one of the T32s and then pushed hard as one through the center of the map. The game was looking like a clean win for S-D but the T32 driven by Carmon had other ideas! First it sat back and picked off its first victim from the hillside on the west, then moved forward to claim its second! This tank seemed unstoppable as it headed back trailed by a wake of destruction.
The T1 lights of both teams had not played an important role in this game so far, but their time came now as they fought it out in an epic dual on the east of the map, with the T1 of S-D coming out on top finally!
Then came the play of the game! The remaining T32 of S-D bravely faced the EPS T32 as it picked of tank after tank. The T32 of S-D managed to score a good hit, taking the EPS T32 down to 10% health. With its own health on 15%, the next hit would likely decide the game. The T32 of EPS moved forward with cool purpose and seemed to have a clean shot but it was baited into firing too soon by its foe and the shot bounced! That’s all the T32 of S-D needed and pushed up hard, killing the final T32 of EPS and taking game 2 for S-D.
Game 3:
Again EPS sent their deadly AMX team to the west of the center, but learning from their mistakes they held back with their T32s. S-D on the other hand through sheer luck or genius sent a full detachment of heavies down through the far west of the map to catch EPS sleeping.
But EPS were not caught out so easily!
After about 3 minutes EPS knew something was up and so scrambled to cover the west side of the map. As they came up the small ramp leading to the ledge on the west they encountered a solid wall of deadly metal firing on all guns!
The first T32 of EPS reacted with lightning speed and halted its advance, shots skimming off its heavy front armor and he rest of EPS took up a strong defensive position. The artillery of EPS had a perfect line of fire on to the S-D tanks, so with the support of the AMX50 100, they started to hammer round after round into the faltering advance of S-D.
S-D pushed out and momentarily had the tank advantage but all of their tanks were on very low health. A full health T32 and the AMX50 100 of EPS saw an opening and charged through the S-D line making short work of these low health monsters.
Game 3 went to EPS
EPS went on to take the entire tournament for the second week in a row, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with!
