Is it just me or this tank is a joke? More i play with it more and more i lose will to play this game at all! I mean 50 sec reload time OMG O M G!!! And what you get for it 3.4 sec  shoots how is this advantage? I don't even want to talk about gun depression  there is none! Last engine well i did that one for arty but now is removed on test server.
They want to make it tier 9 but how atm he is crap can't really say what tier for real.

It's just fine, you just have to learn how to play it's tin can armour. Got something like 73% winrate in a 100 games or so and think more td than brawler you will do fine in it.

Well 3 sec more or less on such insane reload time i do have 100% crew yes vents vstab laying drive. Fact is reload is way to long for tank that has no armor.

I thought it was fine. I'm no virtuoso of pwnage but 100% crew, vents, optics, GLD and imagine you are the worlds tallest, squarest tank destroyer. Anything can hurt you so say well out of the way and engage at distance......but.......not too far because it's not the most accurate platform out there.

You're support, you can flank, you can snipe.....you're just not a front line battle tank.

Lorraine is good tank, i enjoyed playing with it.

i just got into lorraine this week.
mind you i don't play french heavies, so currently I am with stock engine and gun.
well... in stock version... this tank....
is really unplayable imho.... too slow to scout, too low accelaration to brawl, not a decent gun, not accurate, tank is SQUARE and bigger than a barn...

But I've seen lorraines pwn in the battlefields, so I hope it improves with engine/track upgrades....

(I totally adored the 13 90 and I want to play the batchat but this lorraine is right between two really powerfull tanks...)

EDIT: funny thing is that no matter how I play (camping, arty hunt, scout, attack...) I am always the first dead...
It must be because of my non-existant armor that every gun barrel is pointing at me as i light up on the map....
I guess i'll have to suffer this grind for sake of the epic batchat...

X mate, honestly the lorraine is a fine tank, you just need to play it like the AMX13 90.  It won't stand up on it's own against anyone.  You need cover and team mates to hide behind when you reload and then fine a wounded tank that's isolated and murder it.  Play it as am ambush predator and you'll do just fine.  It's not a medium like the other tier 8 meds.  It can't go solo, it can't hold a position, especially as most folk know to wait till you're on a reload and then mug you.  Also with the turret ring masquerading as a turtleneck it hurts badly when you get hit there.

If you ever do find yourself on your own and holding behind some cover my tip would be never fire all 6 shots unless it will kill the last tank threatening you.  Reload when you got 3 or 4 left in the clip as folk counting your shots will get a nasty surprise when they think you're out, and anyone counting your shots won't rush you till they've counted 5 or 6.  The french tanks don't play as normal for thier type when they got the magazine reloaders, you need to adjust the play style for the frenchies.

When it gets placed up a tier you will find the lorraine was ment to be a tier 9 medium. (Was intended as the tier 9 medium before alpha testing.) Expect same rate of fire and reload  (maybe slightly better reload) to that of the batchat. With better view range accuracy and I also believe it will have realistic frontal armor.

It is a joke. Calculate it's DPM and then you will see why it's a useless tier 8 tank.


Without buffs across the board it will still fail, even more so, at tier 9.

Well tnx all for reply think that bothers me is siting helpless for to long feeling useless and watching match being lost or friendlies killed and there is not a damn thing you can do :(

I guess it's just me and way i look at things then again i do play it like support but just doesn't feel right at least not for me.

Lorraine used to be fine before the nerfs,
played mine the other night for fun and was shocked how slow the rate of fire was,
havent played it in a good few weeks and remembered it to be much better, rate of fire wise.
its still a good tank, just not as good as it used to be, to the point where other tier 8's could be better  8 out of 10 times.

I actualy got a steelwall last night in my lorr
But the tank is unforgiving  and needs a lot of strategy to work, even a 1390 can manage to kill you faster then you can unload your mag. The DC90 canon fires faster and the reload time is realy ok, but it lacks penn to be used at longer range.

Very eager to see the balancing/buffing when moved a tier up. This tank doesnt feels like a T9 atm and Iam afraid it will suffer alot in T10 games. Increase in HP terms wont be enough.

Shoot and run. Dont mind the flames which you will recieve and play your game.

Think before you shoot and choose targets wisely, have the map ALWAYS in your eye and adapt, ignore low tier tanks (if possible) and shoot the big boys first, always favor in terms of shooting the nearest target near you, shoot at long distance only if you are sure there is no threat waiting near you, have always an escaping route in the sleeve, watch closely if the tank you can shoot at did shoot and then aproach, get intel on how long each tank reloads, aim and reload time modules are a must.


1100+ games and 66% Win/lose experience here playd 95% in randoms. So if someone can judge the tank then its me

I just bought it with a brand new 75% crew with the gun from my elited AMX 13 90 - The tank takes damage easily from anything, however the real joke is the teams I was matched with while driving it.

My Lorraine seems so awesome I can't even imagine how hilariously OP it was before the nerf. Upgraded, it's speed is like that of a scout tank, and the penetration trumps the heavies of it's tier for gods sake. And it is capable of disintegrating a t8, or sometimes a T9 tank in a single clip..
Those who say its bad because of it's low dpm seem to miss the fact that it has a six shot drum. Think about how much time you spend constantly firing in a match? Then think about the Lorraine, who coughs out staggering amounts of damage in the small window of opportunity you have, then goes away. It will end up doing much, much more damage than it's alpha and dpm would suggest.
