recently i bought the 122mm for my T-44 and it does an average speed of 55km/h and can go from 0 to 30km/h in 10 seconds
i got mad with the 122mm realising i just wasted 100,000 on a gun which has terrible reload speed... and i went back to my 100mm
but now my T-44 does an average of 50km/h and goes from 0 to 30km/h in 17 seconds-ish
have the Devs screwed with the T-44 without letting us know... or has it always been like this?

T-44 Speed?

Did you may upgrade the turret to mount the new gun?
Upgraded turrets = heavier then basic turrets = slower speed

Actually you can't fit 122mm and 100mm without upgraded turret.
Weird, i might check it but spending 106k just to check something looks like a waste

The lighter you load your engine with adds / armor = the more horsepowers to use in battle.
If you upgrade to something that weighs more you will get less engine power output.
Its not screwing with the game - its gravity rules of physics

122mm is SLOW. You can tell by the statistics....
Strange enough, 122mm is 2600kg whereas 100mm is 2257kg. So you should be slower with the 122mm. Did you maybe use premium fuel or something?

Ok, I mounted the 122mm and went in to a training battle to get some flat ground to test with.
Test performed with an Elite T-44 with 100%+ crew. 122mm cannon 8.5 second 0-40 km/h 51 km/h top speed 100mm cannon 8.6 second 0-40 km/h 51 km/h top speedA 0.1 second difference is probably due to my finger being slower hitting the stopwatch. The 100mm D10T is .343 kg lighter than the 122mm D-25-44. That weight is negligible and shouldn't cause more than a minor difference in acceleration speed. I believe I can safely say that you either experienced an anomaly or the test conditions were dissimilar.

Sykotic, I think you should test it again. It's not much but I can definately feel the difference in acceleration between using the 122 and the 100mm.
That being said, try putting the standard turret and the 85 long in. You can feel a pretty significant increase in acceleration.

@Sykotic
Do you have these statistics with a gun 85mm D5T-85BM? I prefer that long 85mm canon.
Weight:
33,81 T
Top Speed 51
acceleration 0-40 km/h ??
I see a difference when you rotate around the tank, there is a lot more agile than that with heavier gun.

I'm confused now. Do higher weighted modules add slowness or not?
My A-20 scout is almost completely naked because I wanted top speed. If weight is only a limited factor for suspension purposes and does not actually effect a tanks speed in battles than I can tweak this thing out with a heavier gun etc.
For example I have no spall liner as I thought it would slow me down, same as with bigger gun.
Oh Ignore this post. After re-reading I think I get it now... Doh! I'm a bit slow today.

I don't agree with sykotic when it comes to pretty much everything
except this.
Myth busted.

ok heres how i was sure the tank was slower with the 100mm
Kariela
back when i had the 122mm i started off pretty fast i used the Speed Governer and managed to do a average speed of 53/54km/h (this is really true because it gave me the edge in tank vs tank and i wondered how i did so fast with a heavier gun)
on the same map going to the same place with speed governer, i got hit in the tracks and i lost speed, but i fixed the track instanly using the repair kit, but i started off slower doing an extra 1km/h every second while with the 122 i did every 1km/h in about 0.5 seconds
do the tracks blowing off effect the speed of the tank?? besides causing it to go to a complete stop

Yes. Yellow status of tracks significantly lowers the acceleration and top speed.
