Assault on Erlenberg - a few critical points

Hi!
It seems I can't figure out, how to defend Erlenberg (http://worldoftanksg.../ref-maps.shtml). I played several defenses there and lost each time, twice even terribly (14:0 and 12:0)
What I noticed tho is:
- if we spread your defense out, we don't have much cover there,
- if we defend close to the flag, we have cover only behind a few houses in village. Not enough for all tanks.
- defenders are split in half and can't maneuver from left to right because of the river,
- attackers are first to the hill at H9, from where they have excellent view over terrain we need to maneuver,
- there's also no cover to move reinforcemets, if they're needed for a spread-out defenses.
Basically to win this map the attackers need only to concentrate their forces, and roll over fist one part of the map, then the other. Even with decent coordination I don't see a viable counter to that tactics.
What are your thoughts on this?

Let the right side out. Don't advance on it. Concentrate on the left side because the right gives too much advantage for the attackers and the left side gives you the advantage.

just won another defending game .
First of all i think it is better "not to get out in the open" because you will get spotted and probably focused ,every teammate you loose too early minimizes your chance of victory
"Don't" attack ,let them come and stay in Packs
Remember they have to ,you don't .
Get someone to the "spotting" points at C2,D9, if you have arty.
Make your arty spread out as far as "they are couraged" to get the most efficient crossfire possibly at A3,5 or A0 but make sure you have someone who can protect them probably at B3,C3,C0
If not ,C2,D9,B3,C3 and C0 are good for tds, lights and meds too.
Let them grind the attackers down ,if/when they break through let them run into the heavies and/or tds around your flag.
Don't go farther than E5 to the South, if you don't have a lot very strong/fast mediums, from there you can flank them over the bridge if you think you have to,or you can go back to base with some protection from the houses.

Hi!
Thinking about this map before falling to sleep made me realize how to solve the defenders' main problem of being split.
All defenders would need to move to the left side (where flag is), then the south bridge would need to be phisically blocked by a heavy tank parked over it and left there. If defenders could also block the middle bridge, would attackers, that went via south way, need to make a BIIG detour, returnign to "their" north bridge and losing valuable time.
Could work, but how to organize that in a random game?

If you can destriy the enemy attack on one flank you can then hit their other flank in the back. that is how you win as defender. it is the only assault map where defenders have to attack. stupid, but live with it

best def game i have had we rolled them up on the left, with a base hugging def on the right, you need to be quick but once youget rolling it seems to work, of course a lot depends what tanks you have in your team, meds that can be agressive are very useful, but everyone needs to be ready to redeploy if they lemming train all on one route. If you do not move out from the spawn area the Arty has a hard time staying alive, as the whole area is targetable from alot of places.

If the attackers gain control of the D9/E9 hill, they win. Simple as that, from there they can spot your arty and snipe at most remaining defenders. The west side can be held by a few tanks.

So far i wasnt able to play successfull deff on this map with high tiers (randoms) but i always thought that best option would be to leave the west side, hold the north bridge, move some tanks between the houses near the middle bridge (they have a nice cover from arty there) and focus on a east side. Small valley on east side of a map seems to be an important part of a map, whoever can secure that area may have a victory on their hands. Hill, as well as the bottom should be secured by best tanks supported by arty. Only problem with this map , similar to Prokhorovka, is that arty is given a small area to position, making it easy to target by enemy fire. Valley will be a place for a really hard battle in that situation, so the side with better brawlers have an advantage here. Medium tanks have a use here as well, spotting targets and flanking attacking red team from the side.
But with random mix of a tanks its hard to find a solution which will work with every setup, every battle should be considered separate. Companies on the other hand have a preset mix of tanks and that is when tactic can be used to find a way for a proper deff on this map

Only played this once, last night in fact, in a StuG111. We defended by placing a strong force at D9 to hold the hill, a small force to guard the river approaches, a force of 4 or 5 mixed tanks at C2. By holding the enemy at D9 it allowed the tanks at C2 to pick off the weak attack along that road, and we were able to move forward to pick off their Arty, and then take on any tanks along the riverside roads. Victory 15-6.
Of course the fact that the enemy came at us piecemeal helped.
