You have vsync set and your monitor refresh rate is 62 (probably 60, that's default for LCD).

The human eye can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 frames per second. So about 30 is more than enough, but for things like games 60 is ideal so they blur together a little. (unless its a newer game w motion blur built in then 30 is fine till it dips) So it's not much of a difference, is it.

Refresh rate isn't the same as framerate in games. Still, games on modern engines (mainly those ported from consoles) are easily distinguishable by the lack of fluidity of the picture.

It's not good if you go over 60 FPS, youre computer will just overwork because of that.

The benefit of having vsync on (lack of tearing, which I guess is the flickering you are seeing), is probably greater than any benefit you will get from going over 60fps anyway (epeen mainly).

An old amiga game " F15 strike eagle " had a setting to alter the refresh rate from 50 htz to 60 htz and the difference was plain to see when enabled.

You should most likely take a look at 120hz lcd monitors, they are made for games. The difference between normal lcd and 120hz screen is freaking amazing when you are playing. The screen itself isnt that great, its normal TN -panel, which aint that good. But dont get me wrong, its still better than normal lcd's which are using the TN -panel.
I bought 120hz screen about 2y ago and i aint going back.

you sure have no idea
looking around at 30fps is laggy and slow looking around at 60 is crisp fast and smooth

I got a 120 Hz screen which I bought after one of the "best" 60 Hz TN panels was as bad or worse in response than the 5 year old TN screen I had before. Returned it and bought a 120 Hz TN and the difference is huge.
Anyway his point..... fps drop since patch... yes and quite a big one. Crashing buildings in the village on Airfield I can get down to 30-40 fps (normal open space is 60-120), which is extremely funny considering stuff like BF3 on full HD and ultra details rarely gets under 50 on my computer. Looks like well written WoT engine...
Also seeing a lot of graphical glitches where for example a smoke from dead tank disappears when moving the arty view 1-2 meters left/right, or distant trees that switch from a bit lighter to a bit darger tone when just standing still and rotating the 3rd person view.

Damn you guys are talking space ship things here
.I have a mere max of 27-29 fps and a average of 24 fps.And the human eyes maximum Fps(if it can be named this way) is 30 fps, what goes more than this it is the same thing. So no point boosting your video card to 120 fps cuz you wont' fell the difference

With a ping of 50 you're capped to a 20 fps for server side stuff like enemy tanks.
