Fast fix! put the unliked modes out of...

werst22's Photo werst22 27 Jun 2012

I read the updated announcement that wargaming wants to rewiew the new modes to make them eventually chooseable.

Most of the old modes where carefully designed, balanced and had lovely stiled starting points.

The "new modes" messed this up.

The most ridiculus argument i heard,  is don t make the new modes chooseable, nobody wants to play them then.
That says everything.

To make the new modes chooseable is the compromise !,
Wargaming don t talk, walk!

Well I kind of agree with you. I really like the encounter but the assault is a bit random,
But hey it might grow on me if I platoon more or if hell freezes over perhaps :D

I totally disagree.
1. the "new" look of the maps is good, if not great, the changes are really well done(they make some maps finally"whole"imho)
2. the starting "areas" of the new mods are at least "refreshing", and let "you" look at the maps in a different way (out of the box thinking).
give the community and yourself a bit more time to fathom the potential of those new mods to the fullest before throwing dirt at'em,if you let me remind you that everytime a new map is implemented
the whining and trolling in the forum gets annoying why should it be different when there are "new" mods.
So be more patient young padawan ;)

Fine with making the modes non-mandatory, but I'd like to keep them in game until then simply because I like them and find them refreshing. Enjoy being the attacker in Assault as well, even on Malinovka and Prokhorovka. Victory depends a lot more on the skills of the teams than the maps and modes anyway.

I agree with making that you can choose if you want to play those modes and if WG would care more, they could make a hot fix only to make them chooseable. But they'll propably give that to us with the next patch which means in 2 months...
I don't want to play those modes at all, and I paid a bit for your gold so I AM your customer (I won't mention that RO2 developers made hotfix for my friend who didn't bought their game yet, but had issues during that free-weekend thing THEY MADE IT IN 2 HOURS) so why can't you do that one simple thing for that part of community that doesn't want to play them as well?

I like the new modes, even when we're losing as attacker in assault, it's still a nice extra bit of challenge. Spices things up.

Easy to answer: Because WG normally don't cares about their non-russian-customers, they don't care about their public-servers feedback, BUT after the release of 0.7.4. also their russian player starting to complain, NOW WG devs start to think about a change, what also means, that they only think about it and not that a change will be implemented soon, more likely after months. BUT perhaps also players start leaving or stop playing, so in that case WG reacts a bit faster, maybe just one or two months, their normal developing speed is just.... slllllllllloooooooooooooow and they are also normally fully ignorant towards critics and suggestions.

So, neverever expect a fast fix, WG ain't able and willing to do that.

No, it doesn't say everything because there are lots of people who want to play them, including me. All the whining about unbalanced gameplay is heavily exaggerated anyway. First of all encounter isn't unbalanced at all (and a lot of fun from my point of view) and assault isn't nearly as unbalanced as people say. I've easily won more than 50% of battles I've played as an attacker so far. Maybe some maps could need a bit of fine-tuning, but it's not like it's impossible to win any of the assault maps.

I'm looking forward to optional game modes though, not only will there be (hopefully) more players playing these modes who understand what they have to do to win, it will also hopefully stop all the whining here when people can play what they like.

When I press the battle button, I for one am looking forward to see if I get to play one of the new game modes. It's refreshing to start from a different point on the old maps as it changes everything you knew about that map, so basically you can almost say you have a different map altogether.

The other + of the new modes is that it forces you to think of new strategies in order for you to win the match, which for me is very refreshing because you don't always go to the same spots and apply the same tactics over and over again. This is what actually new modes were supposed to achieve and they have done so. Admittedly, they do need some tweaks but the basic concepts are there.

Being able to select game modes will be another great thing because those who will play them will understand what they have to do (most of them at least) which will make the games more interesting and playable.

Can't say that every map gives you the possibility to think about other tactics. I find i.e. Siegfried Line the same as ever, since the base is inside the choke point. Another thing: Prochorovka isn't even stimulating me to think if whole defending team is behind the rails - no chance to get through, or if yes, to gather random players to attack all lines simultaneously...

But yes, if it's optional, quality of games should raise a lot, since there will be players who want to play, not who has to play.
