KV-1S very close to OP

Before you Russian elitists come charging in on your golden high horses, I am in no way saying the entire Russian tech tree is OP. I am currently driving a fully upgraded Tiger H, just so we can get on the same level.
Basically, I have been encountering some infuriating moments with the KV-1S. I have the 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 gun which is a tier VIII gun, and yet the KV-1S can bounce every shot I throw at it... I mean come on. A tier VIII gun should have no problem penetrating a tier VI tank.
Please for the love of god dont come raging in here saying "OH EHM GEESH YUR JUST A N00B" as you would be wasting your breath, fair enough if I was a noob, but that would not effect the way my gun functions now, would it. And yes I am aiming for the obvious weak points and they still bounce the vast majority of shots.
Sure I am going on a little rant by now, but hey, who is not guilty of a rant every now and then.
Once again, I feel the need to clarify this to the Russian tech tree defenders that lurk here all of the time and pounce on anyone who as so much voices their opinion on the Russian tanks.
I am NOT calling the ENTIRE Russian tech tree OP, this is the ONLY tank in the tech tree I have an issue with.
And by NO MEANS am I saying this is my final decision, it is open to debate. My truthful opinion says it is balancing on the line of OP.
someone voiced their opinion on a Russian tank. RUN.

Interesting, I have always seen that tank as crap. I found it pretty sucky when I tried it (I suppose the top gun is pretty good on it) and I have never had issues with it on any other tank of what I recall.

tbh I never have problems penetrating it, even with smaller guns. Just try to not hit any angled spot or the gun mantlet, those will likely bounce. More or less flat surface = hit and probably fire, as someone pointed out ^^

You most probably hit the extreme slope of the lower-middle glacis. With the 268 pen of the IS-4 I find myself bouncing off KV-2s. Just aim at the flat surfaces omg.

I have noticed it catches fire an awful lot, but that is only ever when I am using HE shells. Funnily enough one time I shot a KV-1S in the fuel tanks and it managed to bounce it. My Tiger H clearly must hate me,

I've driven it myself and I've met if often enough on the battlefield for being able to say that the KV-1S is far from OP. The top gun is powerful and it's quite agile, but the armor is more comparable to a medium tank than to a heavy. It's comparable to the VK4502A: Can bounce some shots if angled correctly, but it's still rather fragile.

u have check armor values on KV-1s?
you bounce?
check them again and make conclusion...
btw, i have bounce with bl10 on pz 4..
he is OP, nerf him...
and btw only tanks that i set on fire and i see on fire in almost every battles are KV series...
even on other acc i was having with German steel i was not on fire so many times as in KV series...

In short: yes, you are a noob. Second: LEARN
KV-S, just like KV or the IS has a higly sloped middle front plate, which can autobounce shots. You have to aim at the turret ring or the lower hull for sure penetration. The edges of the front turret can do funny things, too. But overall that tank is mobile and hard hitting but paper.

It is not OP, it is however a good tier 6 Heavy according to many folks. No need to nerf it at all, it might have decent frontal armour, but the sides and rear are painful.

I have a KV 1S and you have to drive the thing like it is made of glass armour , especially against Tigers !
The top gun is good and mobility good , but again the armour is all but non existent .
Must be something else going on for yo to have the problems you are having .
All IMHO

Exactly that... recently i got me one myself to fill the hole in my russian tech tree named KV-13... want to elite all trees someday :P
I found the KV-1S to be a weak tank... and it gets lit on fire pretty fast...
please post a replay of a match so we can analyze why you bounce so much on that tank...

Actually, I did choose the KV-1S over the KV-3 a long time ago, simply because i found it more balanced. The 122mm packs a real punch, but you cannot snipe worth shit, unless you are shooting a stationary target. The reload is long, and aiming time even more. Armour is mediocre at best, even short 88's and the M1A2 punch right through me, meaning you cannot just nobrain it into a pack of German and American mediums unlike you could with the KV-3

re-read my post, I have a feeling I will be saying this an awful lot.

KV-1S is very strong and funny tank, OP in good hands. But when you ding at his armor with long 88 mm, it is your problem. KV-1S has weak armor (slightly worse then KV-1) and if driver is not hiding his tank, he dies in seconds.
And when we are talking about bounces then you should know that even tier X guns can sometimes bounce or ricochet on tier I tanks.

"OH EHM GEESH YUR JUST A N00B!"
Yes, it has very nice gun and decent speed, but the gun is very slow to reload and armor bad. Havent really experienced it to bounce so much shots.
If you want to claim some vehicle OP, it would more be KV-3

Now, I don't get butthurt when someone mentions ''OP'' and ''Russian tanks'' in the same sentence, but when somebody mentions ''KV-1S'' and ''OP'' in the same sentence - then yes.
The KV-1S has a great gun. That's true. But said gun also has horrid accuracy and a pathetic RoF - two enormous disadvantages, especially since the KV-1S can't really slug it out with other heavies. Not to mention the HORRIBLE upgrade path. All in all, the KV-1S is pretty well-balanced in my opinion.
Also, OP, I am in no way insulting you, but if you voice your opinion, you should be prepared for people presenting counter-arguments and calling you a ''noob'' (WoT community at work). Otherwise, don't voice it. Also, ''re-read my post'' is not a valid argument. Point out why somebody is wrong. It just makes you look weak, and not open to other people's opinions. If you disagree with someone saying you're a noob, challenge him - don't just say ''lol ur wrong because my post says so''.
Disclaimer: I am in no way biased towards Russian tanks. I do prefer German tanks simply for how they look.
