Why should I even play in lower tiers?

Reichsbusfahrer's Photo Reichsbusfahrer 27 Jun 2012

Hello,

this might be some sort of baww-thread, so feel free to insult me for whining.

I got my ARL V39 yesterday. After quiet a few matches (7 of them were Malinovka Assault on the Attacker side, 5 Karelia Assault Attacker side either).

Seriously: why should I even give a flying f*** about the game if it's just not worth playing anyway?

One match where I was just basecamping:

Defeat
Battle: Cliff Mittwoch, 27. Juni 2012 12:52:32
Vehicle: ARL V39
Experience received: 66
Credits received: 8.920

One match in which I shot quiet some stuff but lost due to retardness of the team.

Defeat
Battle: Steppes Mittwoch, 27. Juni 2012 12:22:33
Vehicle: ARL V39
Experience received: 208
Credits received: 6.804

And then one match I just went RRR (auto acceleration right after the beginning)

Victory!
Battle: Steppes Mittwoch, 27. Juni 2012 13:02:29
Vehicle: ARL V39
Experience received: 405
Credits received: 9.295

I'll just idle through this tank from now on. It makes no sense to even waste playtime for getting less XP.

Welcome to the way of the suicide scout. Many have gone it before you, and many will after, as long as it stays as efficient as it is. Didn't merit yet another thread, however.

Rating this 1/10.

If you don't think the game is worth playing, don't play it. Alternatively, figure out what you're doing wrong and have fun. Guess you must be doing a lot wrong if you're too scared to post on your real account.

Stop playing for a while. If rage is taking over fun it is time for a break.

"game" might be misleading.

I actually mean some "special" ingame battles.

50,x win quote in 10k battles, 74% hit ratio and 530 average xp. Average I guess. Awful win quotes in some tanks but overall nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm fine with the game in T8+. But T5 and 6 are truly awful.
I'm just complaing about the fact I get two times the xp of playing regularly if I act completely retarded (in lower tiers).

+1 I completely agree, WoT ain't a job, its supposed to be fun.

if you'r not having any fun, there is little use in playing the game.

high tiers are a bigger pain though.
You spend all that time in crappy lower tiers grinding your way to the top, telling yourself how awesome it will be when you get there, how the top tier tank will rock. Then when you FINALLY get there.... WG bring out the nerf stick and a new line of tanks resulting in the tank that was SUPPOSED to be awesome actually becoming a bit like the London 2012 Olympics.
(Looked like a good idea at the time, but the reality turned out to be.... well to use Al Murrays words.. "A bit shit")

Hehehe That reminds me of an old game from the 80's the title of which eludes me. On the box it went something like. The way of the Samurai is long & hard! Which as a teenager my cousin & I found  highly amusing by adding innuendo. Ah life was so simple back in the 80's.

As for the subject of the OP I think these days with the right vehicle like a T82 or a PzKpfw S35 739 (f) trolling the lower tiers is great fun. I once got reported for unfair game play for getting 8 kills with my micromaus.
Give the low tiers a harsh lesson early is what I say then they may start to want to learn how to play properly & hopefully make the high tiers more playable.

lol. well, agreed, it's fun for those sitting in the overpowered, pimped out tanks, but you can't really blame a regular tier 1 to tier 3 player for being little more than cannon fodder considering they will have a 50% crew and no equipment and not even close to the view range to ever see you before you one-shot them.

There's nothing more unbalanced than the lower tiers and I'd take a bet that many new players are actually getting griefed out of the game because of it before they even settle in.

PS: Yes, I have T82, Marder II and Tetrarch and do feel slightly dirty for it.

I agree that lower tier is more random.  But a skilled player with 100% crew and equipment on his tank can make a big difference there.

I to like to sometimes play the really OP low tier tanks like Marder II or T82,  that I have 1M cred equipment on

There is no tanks it is as easy to get "top gun" in as the Marder II. :Smile_Default:
