2 years old mechanic? O.o IMO, it's safe bet to say that it wasn't used anywhere outside closed beta.

The normalization boost you get from having shell diameter overmatch the armour 3x is even older mechanic (though it might have been 2x initially). Never noticed anything being said by WG about removing the penetration-normalization mechanic I mentioned.

Hell the rate of fire on the Russian 122's and the M103's 120 are almost double what they were in real life and not to mention down right impossible for the two piece ammunition those guns used.

That's how the game is intended to work. Everything is sped up (about 2x) and contracted, from RoF to ranging ("aim time") to turning turrets and general mobility and engagement ranges. Though there are guns that don't have twice their historical RoF due to game balance reasons.

But no doubt they can make T-62A worthwhile tank, even if it may not look that impressive in initial theorycrafting.

Of course it will be best T10 medium tank - its soviet, so comrades from WG will make it sure.

It depends how they make T-62A.

If they basicly make it beta the T-54 with better gun it will be a monster, if they make it from the current T-54 with small buff, it will be ok but not great.

I hopw they find some middle ground so it will be a truly good tier 10 tank, but not stupidly OP like the T-54 was when it first arrived to the game.

[sarcasm]Yes, sure. If it will be as "good" as T-54 is now compared to its counterparts, it will be sooo awesome.[/sarcasm]

The current state of T-54 is result of many months during which T-54 was enourmously unbalanced.

Im talking about the balance status when those tanks will be introduced.

Do you remember when T9 mediums were introduced? It was horrible and randoms were unplayable, well except for T-54 owners.

T54s were unstoppable, and other T9s were total crap compared to  them. Only months of multiple nerfs brought T-54 to its current state, which I know is not ideal. Mainly its aiming time is unjustified.

But it doesnt mean that T-54 wasnt totally OP and it took a looong time to take that status from them. And that this situation might happen again - new soviet medium will be much much better than to its counterparts, that it will be so totally overpowered and unbalanced that it will be ruining random games and it will take long time to fix it.

Do we understand each other now?

I get your point, but why do you think it will be this way again? because all recently introduced soviet tanks are so much better than their counterparts?

I correct you : All recently introduced US tanks are so much better than their counterparts?
Let's start the US bias a bit.

Just seen it myself.. So it seems that the new T-62 will be a real agiltiy improvment over the T-54.

Track traverse.. From 48 degrees (T-54) to 56 degrees (T-62)
Engine power... From 700 hp to 1050hp (!!!). This thing should eat hills like no other tank.

The gun is still a mistery... A good rate of fire and penetration increase, but the damage is still bad. It all comes down to accuracy on the move for me. If it is good, this tank can be great!

Well gun with that RoF is overpowered especially with that penetration. All meidum tanks are going to get nerfed big time before release. French for example were so damn OP in test version, 280+ penetration with huge rof and accuracy. As was 88 L/100 with 0.24 accuracy, 300 damage and 15 rpm.

500 more Dpm than e50 nearly equal to patton 3 the gap is very narrow.
15 m more viewrange ,120m more radio range
40mm more turret front

Doesnt look like a bad package, with all these improvements i doubt it will get much better than T-54 in the soft spec area (i mean it might improve but maintain the drawbacks it had as tier9 compared to the lot)

How can you fit a 1050HP engine inside a tank that small? This is absurd. At this rate, the Leopard will eventually have a 1500HP engine.
