Can anyone help me out with where the weak spots on the vk 3601 (h) are??

I'm making good progress with the tank however when ever I am up against another vk 3601 (h) I always come out worse and think I'm not hitting the weak spots correctly. If its front onto me should I aim for the turret or the drivers slit??

Any help would be good.

Thanks

Aim for the ball mounted machine gun on front and the commanders cupola on the turret.

I like to hit turret from side on every German tank, u can kill loader, commander or gunner and that's good xp!

Hi! I usually always aim for the lower front plate when a target is a bit further away from me and if I get into a brawl or a face hugging I find it easier to aim for the cylindrical hatch on top of the turret. I colored a picture of a VK3601 for you as well, I hope this helps!

Also, if you feel confident in you aim skills, aim for the gun loadin HE shells. The center of the gun is a 0-armor spot and with HE you can do:
-massive damage
-knock out gun
-knock out commander/gunner/loader

Thanks for all your help I had been aiming on the right hand side of the tank instead of the gun on the left, will give that a try and see how I get on.

I'm so interested in this story. Where to aim exactly? On gun, on gun - turret connection or right inside the gun barrel. Please explain it more

Right inside the gun barrel, in the hole where it connects with the gun plating.

http://imageshack.us...38/vk3601h.jpg/ Green zone in this pic.

Watch out since you don't want to hit the gun mantlet (aka: the heavily armored part around the last bit of the barrel) or it will bounce even a 88 L/71 shell.

Pretty difficult, but if you can pull it off you can kill him slightly faster and cripple him along the way (gun, loader and gunner can all be disabled from there)

is it best to do that when you aren't head on but just off centre, so you hit part gun part turret or should it be just the turret you aim for??

No, you must not hit the turret, only the gun hole. If you hit the turret front you'll bounce 9 out of 10 times.

I saw some players took my gun in first skirmishes. I wish I have that aiming skills coz I rarely aim for the gun coz that gun mantlet deflect my shots many times. Now I know where to aim, thanks and good luck all on hitting the right spot :)

hit the sides. full frontal, the 3601 is a very hard target, armour as thick as Tiger I, bouncy.... I have it and it's the only tank in which I enjoy playing urban terrains (Ensk etc), since the MM is adequate and if you are careful to offer frontal target it's a very difficult  kill. in the german tree, the 3601 is WAY better than the tiger.

The vertical plate below the turret is relatively easy to pen provided they are not angled. The lower glacis is also rather soft. VK3601 is a beast though. Love that tank.

Not so much, you must be very close to be sure, because over that plate you got the big and bouncy mantlet, and under that plate the nearly un-pennable 38mm @80° from vertical...

Killing the gun is something i do if:
A) i find an American heavy hulldown and can't get past it or round it to hit the hull.
B) i encounter a T95 frontally. it's the only place i can damage him with the tanks i got now.
C) i am facehuggin something. usually first shot is in the gun, second on the commander's cupola (if he has Jack of All Trades it's good to rob him of that), then i decide what to do, if to keep gettin the gun, or the cupola (rather depends on the caliber of the gun itself), or breaking the engagement and using those big advantages i bought myself to kill him the hard way.

I noticed that the lower glacis plate is indeed soft, rarely got bounces from it(excepting tier 4-5), even angled.

If u angle the front u can bounce even 90mm shells! Today one VK bounced my 2 shots from Hell Cat in row. I aimed at drivers hatch both times but angled shots didn't even scratch him!

I've shot a vk3601 (h) with a 107mm.
Which average pentration is 167mm.
The Vk isn't even nowhere near that kind of armor (100mm front hull and turret) and most of my shells don't penetrate.

T34, T29 and many heavys I have no problems with. But every time I find myself against a Vk3601h they simply don't penetrate.

Last battle I was in close combat with a vk3601h with my jagpz4 which has a 8.8 L/56 (average penetration 132mm).
Aimed into weak spots and didn't penetrate on 20 meters... that gun eats heavy tanks even from a long distance.

I think that some extra training needs to be done.
