That' great news. Just yesterday I was at kitchen, remembering the sieges with onagres and velites throwing their spears at advancing cavalry. One of the games that left a huge "pleasant memory" scar :Smile_Default:

OMG I spent so many weeks playing RTW, and then some more playing the total realism mod! Very good news for the gaming world...hopefuly they make something as great as the original.

+1 for the fantastic news, RTW is imo the best of the series besides ETW.

Let us rejoice!

Now let us pray for a simple economy, because I tire of managing the increasingly tiresome budgets in these games

I used to play RTW online against players, it was great fun. Playing Empire and RTW still (along with the odd Close Combat III with various mods - Romanian at the moment).

Was waiting for this since Shogun 2, which is not my cup of coffe. Great news indeed! But still, I'm looking even more forward to Medieval III, which should follow!

Yaaaayyy!!.. finally Rome TW II is coming out... Wg better get your act together cause I am def, going to play this game.

Funny how The Creative Assembly eventually lost me because of their BS bugs in  Napoleon TW, Empire TW, and Shogun II.....

Good man Vioras I've been too rushed off my feet for the last two days to come here and post a link (or even play WOT for that matter) so you saved me a job :Smile_Default:

Here's the official game trailer and release thread http://forums.totalw...84%A2-announced

and if anyone who played the original RTW has any cool ideas of what they would like to see in Rome II then why not enter my competition http://forums.totalw...er-(competition)

Rome was always the best of the series i think (although i have a soft spot for Empire as i love that period of military history) so i'm very excited about Rome 2.

On a wider point, when a few years back people were predicting the death of single player PC gaming under the console onslaught, it was games like the Total War series that reminded everyone just what the PC does so well games-wise.

Creative Assembly are to be applauded for this classic series- long may they continue!

PS- i wonder if they'd ever turn their attention to armoured warfare?

I would love for them to do a 'Close Combat' series style version of Total War, infantry heavy with some armour

I just read your idea and it's a very good one indeed and it makes total sense as well which is more than I can say for some of the ideas that people post in those types of threads :Smile_veryhappy:

I wish they would implement something. I want to have the option to fight side by side with my soldiers just like in M&B, or if I don`t feel like, just use the default controling system. That would be something.

Big news yess, as it was my favourite TW title besides Napoleon TW and ETW. Shogun II s not so bad but the economy part 's way too hard. Of any title wishing to be refreshed, rome Total War was the one. Bad news rather is, that it will be later 2013 :Smile_sad: until it's out. Though that wonders me a bit as there is already some video. Hm.. Still I hope though that they will bring something new instead of another sequel or refresh some day. Something like Worldwar or a fantasy part... Middleearth Total war, wow.. with some magic in stock by specias-button to call Nazgul into battle or a balrog who supports orks or uruk'ai. A question of copyright..

I would also fancy a dune C&C-like revival :-))
GIIIVE ME MY SPICE !!!!
Rabbaan, I want You to squeeze and squeeze and squeeeze them..
