Yeah that same engine has been used since the late '70s. Can't argue with longevity like that!

It's the carbs and ignition system I have problems with, purely age-related! It won't idle and runs rough as hell under 3k rpm, it only runs smoothly when you're going flat out. Funnily enough the police don't take that as an excuse :Smile_sceptic:

Ah you have 30 years yet before it starts to break down :Smile_Default:

I have a Marshall exhaust (500 xp upgrade), just love that '80s sportsbike howl, sounds amazing at full blast. Best part is embarassing 30k Euro hot hatches like VXRs and Vtecs away from the traffic lights on my 1k Euro bike :Smile_veryhappy:

Awesome! They have an '86 in my local bike shop, been there over a year now, might make them an offer some day.

Harsh. ATM I have the LTD, a Virago 400 and a Mk4 Golf GTi but I'm getting redundancy in a few months so everything has to go but the LTD. Been a good few years since I biked through all weathers, at least now I can afford proper waterproofs :)
