Well, you could try to download the 0.8.2 update and try to install it over the 0.8.2 "full game" and see if that has the .exe file. If it has but doesn't work, you can try to install full 0.8.1 and patch it to 0.8.2.

Other than that I'm out of ideas :(

My next try will install 8.0 in the evening (8.1 full instal doesn't exist) than patch it to 8.1 and 8.2. But I'm not too confident...

I was thinking on isn't it enough only a 8.2 exe? Put it into the full WOT install and try to watch older replays with it?

Well, I don't think so, vehicles and maps were different back then and that info is most likely stored elsewhere.

You are right, I forgot to tell, only in the case of 8.2 reps. Nothing huge change, only chinese added in 8.3.

+ arty nerfed (HP, ammo, mobility, gun elevations/depressions), that would end up in strange results I think :)

Well, right again.
So I hope the 8.0 -> 8.1 -> 8.2 will work.

Ok guys, here is the solution!

Somehow the "WoT_0.8.2_eu_setup.exe" is incorrect, it won't install everything you need.

So you need to do this, for a working 8.2 version:

1. Install WoT_0.8.0_eu_setup.exe
2. Patch it with WoT_0.8.1_eu_patch.exe
3. Patch it with WoT_0.8.2_eu_patch.exe

Than u have a fully working version of 8.2.

But!

I have serious problem to associate the correct wot.exe to my replays on Windows 7... :(
If I use the original windows browser window, it doesn't work.
It only worked if I used regedit to change the place of the wot.exe, but its not so comfortable.
I try to find an easier way to do this.

Anyway, I can watch 8.2 replays now. :)

Great! I will update the OP :)

Well, you don't have to do that, you can just open the two folders side by side (WoT 0.8.2 & your replay folder) and drag & drop the replay on the .exe file. That is IMHO the easiest solution.

Alternatively, and that would be a permanent solution, you can modify the suffix of the file(s) from "replay" to, say, "replay_0-8-2" and associate that suffix to the 0.8.2 .exe file :)

Thanks!

The first one is worked well. A little bit strange for me to use 2 explorer window, but it works :)

The second is not really, because you rename the 8.2 reps, thats ok. Than you try to associate them with the 8.2 wot.exe, and there are 2 wot.exe in the list, u choose the correct one, but both of them are called "World of tanks". And finally it try to open with 8.3...
I couldn't manage that. I think Windows has a problem to handle 2 different exe file with the same name. I mean not phisically the name of the files, but their names in the system (registry or something else).

Hmmm...haven't thought about that...good point.

However, what's stopping you to rename the 0.8.2 exe to "worldoftanks_0.8.2.exe"? :)

Well, this would surely break the launcher -> game .exe chain (launcher is a no-go anyway), but should be ok otherwise...worth a try :)

Hm, I think you don't understand me. :)

How to say...
As I said (in my last sentence) it doesn't matter what's the name of the exe file (phisically on your hard drive).
Every exe file have some properties. One of them is the name property. And your 8.2 exe and 8.3 exe have the "World Of Tanks" as name property and you cannot change them.
And most of the cases (like associate file extensions to executable files) Windows uses these name properties. So it causes some trouble if 2 file have the same name. In my case always use 8.3 exe.

But no more words on this, the point is: there is at least one working method, and we can watch 8.2 replays. :)

Just a suggestion, here's how I do it:

1. Put all your 0.8.2 replays in a folder called "0.8.2" (e.g. "D:\Replays\0.8.2").
2. Create a shortcut to "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks_0.8.2\worldoftanks.exe" and call it "_World-of-Tanks-0.8.2" (the underscore puts it at the top of your file list, hyphens could be exchanged for spaces).
3. Drag-and-drop the replay onto the shortcut and it'll open the correct .exe file.

Repeat step 1-3 but exchange 0.8.2 for 0.8.1, and so on...

Good luck! :)

Well, it's a good solution, but it works without renaming the .exe file as well. I use this drag-and-drop method with the original 8.2 exe.
I just tried to find an easier way, e.g. just hit an enter, and not drag-and-drop, but I failed :)

Yeah I don't rename any files, I just name the shortcut accordingly (e.g. 0.8.2 shortcut is called _World-of-Tanks-0.8.2, etc.

Hi guys, I'm working on some video made from my old replays, and I have one minor problem with version 7.4 (version since which I started to record replays), even though I Installed it clean from 0.7.4 eu setup many times, it keeps saying that I have incompatible version. But it works anyway, well, almost... All vehicle markers are missing (Hp bar, vehicle type, tier, name etc...) and in setting it cannot be turned on. (after turning something on, it does nothing and returns to "unchecked" afterwars). I double checked the replay version, there are french TDs which were added in 7.4, and dates are also correct (July 2012).

It isn't that important thing, but it makes the videos a bit confusing, as you can't see for example what are you shooting at, his HP, or what is behind the corner...
It seems like something similar with 0.8.2 version not working when installed by eu setup. (Or was there some minor update distributed only by the updater?)
Anyone experiencing the same? Or any ideas? Maybe I'll try to download some older version and update it with patches...

Update: Installing v7.3 and then patching it to v7.4 didn't help, no change.

No I did not install any. But maybe I actually had some marker mod when I was playing 7.4 back then, maybe that caused the problems in my replays. Will try some mod, thx!  :Smile_Default:
