The only slopes I see are on the sides of the turret.

They are basically making a tank that was inferior to the PzIII tier 5.
Yeah, WG by now has pretty much fucked logic already...

A Crusader III with a Mk.V L50 57mm 6lber is FAR superior to a Panzer III and good match for any Panzer IV A-E.
I think UMM means the Pz 3/4, and I really can't see any way in which this tank would be superior to it (except in weight :Smile-tongue: )

it should be upped in acceleration. Its not a bad tank, but you're better of with a Sherman, PZIV/M7

not a bad tank but armour is pointless on the test server and probly on the main game after the gold-silver change for prem ammo with all the amgles when shot by normal ammo it's great as it tends to bounce well, unfortunatly what dosent bounce goes straght through

I'm still interested in fielding a sweet little Crusader of my own. Previous reports about new tanks from the test servers have often been rather critical about new tanks and altered designs, but I've discovered that many of those tanks proved quite playable for me despite their negative reviews. But hey, maybe I'm doing it wrong. Maybe I'm doing it ALL wrong!

I don´t really understand why the Cusader is clasified as an Light tank. He´s an cruiser tanks and these were fast and agile Medium tanks. I guess that was just done by WG to get an Tier 5 scout for the british.

crusader was relegated primarily to reconnaissance once supplies of lee and Sherman became available, cruiser tanks and medium tanks don't really fit together that well in all circumstances cruisers can easily be classed as either a med or a light depending on model, just as infantry tanks can be light medium or heavy.

Weight classifications tend to vary wildly. Take the E-50, for example. Even though that beast weighs more than 60 tons, which means it's heavier than a Tiger, it is known as a medium tank. In comparison the Churchill, a heavy tank, seems rather underfed with its measly 40 tons.

I'm liking the crusader more and more. That "machine gun" 6pdr is nasty as hell, and it has quite enough speed and agility to put it to good work. Definetly going to my to-buy list.

It is very nice tank especialy the turret .

I totally agree, cruiser/crusader tanks were easily the best looking tanks built, until the t-34, Is, Panther series of tanks, and the M18

Shame they were so awfull, but as well as sloped armour, they do have a low profile so maybe they won't be to bad

You probably corect about the reason behind it being a light tank in game, crusaders were built to exploit breakthroughs made by heavy tanks, and optimistic idea, that hadn't changed since WW1 with the markIV's and whippet tanks, and is roughly on a par with early panzer MkIII tanks before the long barrel 50mm,with lend lease shermans replacing british builds the only serving crusaders were converted into anti aircraft tanks, after afirca, this tank was only seen in that capacity,

What advantages does the crusader have over the t-50-2?

Unless the stats i saw were wrong t-50-2 is better in everyway.

You didn't get it, right? =) The Crusader is a light medium tank and not stupid scout f**k like  the T-50-2. It has the same role in game like the Easy8 at tier 6: flanking and then tommy-gunning your sides.

That would be great if it were classed a medium tank, but it isn't it's classed as light and I'm guessing has a similar MM to the t-50-2.

It has less speed for rushing, hp/ton for flanking.  No armour, only 100 pen on its gun, less traversal for manueverability.

I'm guessing t-50-2 has better camo so is better at passive and headless chicken scouting, hll it even has better hp, even the t-50-2 zis-4 looks to match/surpass the 6 pounder.

So in what way is a Crusader a better "light medium" than a t-50-2?  A  "light medium" was its real life role, it doesnt look to have translated into the game unless it has a massive bonus to dispersion even then it seems like a crappy advantage compared to the mass of disadvantages.

I've not play'd it yet but it looks like a turkey stat wise.

Ahh just tried it myself.

Now it many just be because its patch day screwing with the match maker but it does seem to have a medium tank MM.  So compared to a pz4 it's looking good.  Need to be very careful around derp guns thou as it's not much armour.

It doesnt feel fast but smooth to play, only got 755 crew atm thou,

I've taken my first steps with the Crusader as well. So far, so good. Still I've got lots of upgrades to do, but that's just a matter of time. I like the Crusader's speed, it accelerates nicely.

It's really a piece of crap. It has very low alpha damage. Therefore you need to stay in sight of your enemy, and you dont have any armour or hitpoints. The 6pdr gun on the prem churchill tank is really good, but in run and gun on this tank its terrible. It has no accuracy while driving and the aim time is pretty bad. I really hope the cromwell will be a lot better.
