I signed with the forlorn hope of change but.....
Rob a pensioner on the street and you'll get 6 month's to 2 years jail........rob 8 million pensioners and leave them destitute for the rest of their lives and you'll get a bonus, what a crazy world we live in. :Smile_sceptic:

And people taking mortgages way above their pay grade and loans they can never pay back are not to blame?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO ......it is still the banks fault for ALLOWING such easy credit giving, they knew beforehand a persons ability to repay so dont blame the customer for taking full advantage of the fact !

It's considerably more complex than that.

If you have some spare time watch it. This is systemic problem with our modern economic system, and it is set up in such a way that it rewards corruption and creating debt.

And who would you replace the "thieving scum" with ?.......no doubt it would be more "thieving scum",humans are inherantly flawed when it comes to money and power.

Oh I agree with you. When I got my first mortage years ago my bank would only lend me 2 and a half times my yearly wage plus 1 years of my wife's and I had to have 10% of the house price in my account and the bank told us it was for our protection so that if something should happen to our job's we should still be able to manage and their loan to us would be safe. So this is what I would call responsible banking.

But....
When did it change so that a person could get 10X their yearly wage and a 100% loan, who allowed it to happen......
..bankers chasing bonus is what happened and a government asleep on the job.
