PC freezes after clicking "connect"

rumenbgst's Photo rumenbgst 20 Jul 2012

Hi. I recently switched to my parents' PC because mine broke down. The problem is that the PC crashes after I press "connect". I tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling it with the 3Gb full game client - same problem. Then I tried reinstalling directX, video card drivers, visual C++,cleaning up the registry, then reinstalling the game - no result. I tried deleting the update folder and then running the update again - still no result. The PC meets the requirements, I checked. I don't know what to do. If you can help me or have the same kind of problem please write. Thank you.

CPU: 1.8Ghz , RAM: 2GB,GPU: ATI RADEON HD2400 512MB. I ran a test and it said that the pc was ok for the minimum settings. I have sent the support team a message and I checked the forum for similar problems but I couldn't find a solution. I havent played the game in nearly a month.

The connection is fine.Checked it.

Thank you for the help guys. I sent a ticket and the guys from support helped me out. If you have the same problem check this out :

" Dear Tank Commander,

Thank you for your concerns. Please, delete the preferences.xml file. That will reset game settings.

You can do it automatically by running the program at the link:

http://downloads.wor...es/wot_pref.zip

If you want to delete the file manually, please press Windows key + R and type %appdata%\wargaming.net\WorldOfTanks
(Another way: press START and select Run...)

The direct way to the folder, where the file is rooted:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Application Data\wargaming.net\WorldOfTanks
- Windows 7: C:\Users\User name\AppData\Roaming\wargaming.net\WorldOfTanks (If you can't find the "AppData" folder you need to change "C:\Users\User name" folder view settings. To do that click "organize", then "folder and search options", then choose "View" and "Show hidden files, folders and drives")

Wish you good luck !

Kind regards,
