How do u participate?  Which server?  Do I need a clan? Etc.,

no forget it you have more chance of one shotting a 1s7 with a hetzer than ever seeing one of the divs in a tank

Wargaming staff members will be playing on special accounts such as "wg_charlie" A full list of the account names you might see can be found here - http://worldoftanks....t-us-down/.��If you see one of these players in a random match, you get 500 gold for killing them if they are on the other team. If they survive, anyone who gets a battle hero status like "Reaper, Topgun, Steel Wall"  will get 250 gold.
They will always announce at the start of the match that it's a community event and explain the rules.

There is no way to automatically join a game with one of these special accounts. They are queuing for random matches just like everyone else.

Reaper is Battle Hero status?

As said, the odds of seeing a wg_ tank even if you play continously during the event is next to nonexistent. Not to mention the fact that if you are on the opposing team, you have a 1/15 chance of being the one getting the kill (more or less depending on how many kills you usually manage to get). Also expect some foul play like team mates not taking a shot that is not guaranteed to kill the wg_ tank.

Getting a war medal on the "defending side" is probably even harder, as I tend to see less than one per game on average, plus the reward is less.

But if you are lucky to meet them and lucky enough to get the reward, congratulations.

Your best bet anyway is just to focus in the tier they are playing and hope for the best.
