Skill recon in Marden II

Hi, hope you can help me out interpreting the wiki on the skill recon.
I'm interested in having it for my Marden II, love the little thing btw.

And have recently found StuG III to be just as enjoyable to play, anyhow that's of topic.

Back to topic. Here is the wiki text:

"The skill is cumulative with the Situational Awareness skill, Coated Optics, and/or Binocular Telescope."

Does the "and/or" bit refer to that situational awareness or coated optics?

Meaning you can combine any two of these three and get them to acumulate?
Or does the text say that it will acumulate only if you have situational awareness and one of the other two?

If so this is no use for my great little Marden II as, there is no radio man, I can't have situational awareness (it's reserved for the radio man).

So the meaning of the text is of great importance to me as it's crucial to my tactical choise of skill/perk.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out.

Cheers

What it means is, that *either* coated optics is active (when you are moving or have moved) or the Binos. Both are never active together. Binos is only active if you have stood still for a while (3 or 5 secs, don't know) and Optics is otherwise active if you have both.Optics is not active, when Binos are active and vice versa.

So when you have recon and optics and binos, your total view range depends on optics & recon skill, when moving and binos & recon when standing still for a while.Recon and either optics or binos stack, only binos and optics don't.

Informative answer good to know that optics and binos work in diferent situations but I still have not the aswer to my question.

Do I have to have situational awereness for the skill recon to be boosted (acumulate)?
Or does recon work with either coated optics or binos but it doesn't stack up (acumulate) as much as it would with situational aswereness too?

No, you don't have to have both. Both work with optics AND binos and both also stack.
If you have 100 Stock view range and recon, it increases this to 102. If you add situational awareness, it's 102 + 3% = 105,6.
To this value add either the Bino or the optics value, depending on situation and what you got.

I had writen my reply but forgot to post it, here goes another try.

I see, as there is no radio man in Marden II, it's impossible to reach the highest cumulative bonus you mention in the post above.
Although I still get som bonus for 100 view range and recon I don't want to settle for less than the full potential, so I'll rethink the recon and go for another skill/perk.

Thanks a lot for your fast replyes.
Cheers.
