I have been watching the 2012 olympics this week, I like some events and dislike others but I believe some events shouldn't be part of the olympics....  events such of football and tennis.

I don't understand why Football is even part of the olympics, football is massive though out the world and doesn't need the olympics.  Football has it own world event every 4 years that lasts for 4 weeks.  I love football, but I have no interest in watching as long as its part of the olympics.  Im from the UK and find the GB football team, well just seems alien to me, I can't explain why and I don't have a clue.

Anyone else think some events should be or not be part of the olympics...

Football is included because it meets the criteria. It's practiced by men in at least 75 countries and four continents, and by women in at least 40 countries and three continents.

It would be wrong for football not to be included as one of the biggest and most supported sports around the world.

As far as I see it, if the sport fits the criteria, then it should be included. The more sports, the greater chance of a medal.
