please forgive me if i dont know the names they were just some examples i found

in my opinion these AA tanks i think would be fun to play and would be a bit diffrent from the normal tank classes we get. there guns might not have great damage but im sure they would make up for there lack of power with a nice rate of fire.

please post what you think below.

remember its only an idea nothing serious. i just think gameplay wise they would be instresting

Playing with them will be same as playing with M2 LT and it's stock gun (the .50 cal MG) in high tier battles. You would have crazy rate of fire, but wouldn't be able to penetrate most of the tanks. Maybe they will be useful if the WG combines World of tanks and World of Warplanes. This AA tanks could provide defense against those pesky planes trying to bomb our tanks :Smile-izmena:

In theory some of them would be great, rapid firing autocannons often with two or more. But take stuff like the Ostwind Flakpanzer and Crusader MK.I AA, both fire HE rounds only meaning that you're either going to litterally rape any tank you see due to nigh constant HE barrages or do nothing.

I'd love such a ROF but without infantry or planes to shoot at, what could you pen with it? Now if they could shoot HE shells for a steady stream of damage,  that'd be awesome.

Vehicles like the Hungarian 40M Nimrod armed with a 40mm Bofors were used in both the AA and AT roles.

The Bofors 40mm did have an AP round, it was tested by the US and found to be able to penetrate the Panthers turret side armour at 600m

The Italians also had a design for a AA tank based on the M15/42 armed with 4 x 20mm weapons (the main Italian 20mm AA weapon was the Breda Model 35, which was a dual purpose weapon that had AP rounds as well.

When the KV series was first introdued in the 40's the 8.8cm flak cannon was one of the few weapons the German ground forces had that could knock out a Soviet heavy tank.

Most of the tanks already have a 88 gun. And I was talking about AA tanks like ostwind and wirbelwind
