whats the fuzz about weak ammoracks?

Chromenut's Photo Chromenut 04 Aug 2012

I have played nearly 2 000 games of WoT and i haven't been ammoracked even once, and 51% of my games are on soviet tanks and around 300 on soviet mediums

edit : and yet most of you suggest W.A.R or safe stowage to soviet mediums.. why?

I've had my ammo rack go up... once. On a hit that would have killed me anyway, in my T-28.

On the other hand, I have hit a fair number of ammo racks.

You must be really lucky ;) or killed by so quick you even didn't realize what killed you.

T-44 has really weak ammorack, T-54 isn't bad, but i've been racked two times in it (once from 50hp second time it was from 100% :( )
Cannot remember T-43 but I didn't use WAR on it (tried to stay away from close combat as it has high module damage anyways).

T-44 was fixed a few months ago together with other Soviet mediums. Currently the German medium line has the most problems with modules.

Uhm, no, it doesn't. The only ones with problems are the handful of tanks with the engine in the front of the vehicle like the JT, E-50 and E-75.

I have a Panther 2, it's a moving torch. It's on fire every 4th game, and being burned by tier 6 tanks is not funny at all.
It feels like 1/3 of the tank is fuel tank, 1/3 engine and 1/3 ammo rack -> every shot damages or destroyes something.

Frontal hit on 62A will either get you ammo(blows up form big guns), your fuel(fire!) or your driver. On reaaaly lucky hits, you get fuel + driver or fuel + ammo. My best combo yet was damaged ammo, fuel fire which in turn blew the ammo. 2000k hp to zero in 3 secs. Priceless.

62A has the same armor as P2 on T10...we know your feeling.

To answer OPs question: They blow.

Granted, I only have 74 matches in PII, yet I wouldn't call it a torch. I was on fire once. Nowadays I get at least one fire every 20 matches or so in a t-54 (frontal hits).

No, german tanks are not torches compared to russian meds. It's just the playerbase is less, hm, vocal about it...
