Yesterday I was playing original DOOM, and I found that it is still relatively good game in some aspects (especially in music) and it was nice to play it after long time. While playing it a thought raised, what old games people are still regularly playing?
So is there some old games you still play?
I personally play quite regularly play "old" PC games like DOOM, red alert, Settlers 2 and 3 etc, And yes I know there is lot older games but but i´m quite young person so they are old to me, But these all have lost some of appeal by becoming old and other newer better games surpassing them. But there is one game I still play regularly, somehow it haven't lost its appeal and that is Heroes of might and magic 3.

Last time XCOM Apocalypse and Terror From The Deep. Also Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri, Civilization:Call To Power, some HoMM3-4. Also Freespace 2 which to my amazement is still alive and has a big community keeping it fresh and evolving. A game i played as brand new title when i was a lil kiddo :)

EDIT: Forgot about one of my fav oldies of all time- NetStorm. Try it you wont regret it :)

Well its not a old game but at least it is good game unlike Hoi 3 :Smile_Default: , personally I just found Hoi 2 to be much better than 3.

+1 for master of orion and xcom ... great games, it's a pity there was no worthy sequel to xcom :/
at least endless space is somewhat similar to orion 2 - but nowhere near as good.

As the OP mentioned the original Doom , and no one else has mentioned the IMHO unmissable game , ShadowMan .
Has to be amongst the best games ever written just based on the atmosphere you get immersed in .
The music , the sound effects , the plot , just perfect !
Ok some might whinge now that it's a bit clunky and the third person is a bit toomraider ..... just get the game and play through it !
I know I do every year or so ! :D

Oh , some pics :

Oh +1 to Anemic , good thread , love finding lost gems :)

At the moment I have only Jagged Alliance 2 and diablo 2 installed. They're not super-old, but they're definitely not new games. Also IL-Sturmovik, but I haven't played it yet. Had Settlers 2 (well, the anniversary edition) installed but didn't feel like playing it, even if it is a great game.

edit: Forgot HOMM 3 and AoE 2!

I still love the Forgotten Hope 2 mod for BF2. Not much a fan of the vanilla game, for various reasons, but FH2 is simply amazing!
And I also play IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles occasionally. Although it's starting to show it's age a bit, it's still the best combat simulator I've played so far. (which makes me think I ought to try IL-2 1946, since I never got the chance to.) :Smile_Default:

Oh and Codename: Panzers  !
