M4a3e2 or the M4a3e8?

vidokas's Photo vidokas 30 Sep 2012

e2 is god againts tier VI (except some tanks like kv-1s with 122mm)
u just can stand and shoot (after battle u get steel wall and sniper) :Smile_veryhappy:
but againts tier VIII i guess its worse than e8. because u are slow, and basicaly u can do nothing. everyone penetrates you, and you are too slow for flanking or circling

Sold E2 after about 20 battles.

E8 is still in the garage with about 500 battles played.

E8 can react to changing situations quickly, E2 cant. Its more like a heavy with the size of a medium. Against inexperienced players or tanks up to his own tier, E2 might be the better choice due to his armor. In all other situations E8 is superior as it can retreat, flank or reposition much easier.

Im suprised to see so many people liking the jumbo, personaly i didnt like it that much it was much too slow come pared to the easy 8.

As I said, do NOT mount its top turret and top gun.

Use stock turret and derp gun. You will one-shot any T4-5, you will heavily damage any KV-1 or T1H1 (especially aiming for turret) and you will make xp with T7-8 where other T6 fail to penetrate. I have incapacitated a IS-3 so easily, he was completely ignoring me, and by the end, I destroyed almost all his modules and killed his crew, so he was easy prey for my teammates.

New normalization means the E2 can bounce short 88 shots WITHOUT angling. Angling now gives 175mm immunity...there goes the biggest T6 guns.

E2 - Use second turret and M1A2, fast reload, reliable hits, bounce and the velocity of the tank is still enough.

Right, but I prefer M1A2 (more accurate 0,4 vs 0,43) and for that you need second turret and this turret has more view range and better traverse speed plus less weigth (so tank may be a little faster) - my opinion.

I don't think the weight of the tank affects his speed

I'm not sure either, bot on the other hand, why is the weight shown?

Are there any experiences with that issue?

Personally I have the feeling that on some tanks when you install the stronger machine it seems to have some impact on the top speed.
And the traverse speed of the turret is really something you can experience.

M4A3E8 is extremely fun to play. I regret selling my one with million credits of equipment, but i really needed money back then. Low cost of shell, high RoF. You can german prototypes of same tier (VKs), cause you can drive fast enough to punch them without getting punched (slow turrets). Its hard to penetrate front without aiming tho. One of biggest downsides is fragile engine - it gets damaged by frontal hit, near left track or somewhere near.
I have researched Jumbo but never played it. Yet i believe its great tank for people who want to get T110E5 - you can skip horror called T1 heavy (Atleast it was horror when i was playing it in first weeks after Beta)
