they would say it had a range of 100-200m but in actuality the round would only go 50m

Yea well... well...errr - that would most likely means that the met calculation needed   err  tweaking.

Or mebbes an adjusting round and an 'add 100' would be coming next?

True.... but transfering crews would be a nightmare..... WG might insist that Manning & Records are informed. They would have to re-badge because we all know that we can't have a Wedgehead or a Dropshort in a tank.... that is as dangerous as an Officer with a map or a Matlot with a rifle :Smile_veryhappy:  :Smile_veryhappy:  :Smile_veryhappy:

They gave the AVRE to you guys with a 165mm dustbin gun..... good job it only had a range of 100-200m.  If RA had it they would say it had a range of 100-200m but in actuality the round would only go 50m  :arta:

Just a little inter-corps banter guys.  Nothing to worry about :Smile-hiding:

We also got the Dropshorts OP Cents as 105mm AVRE's in the 1980's (no front cradle though and it took three 105mm rounds to do the job of one 165mm), even us wedgies could fire and hit the target with the 165mm and 105 further than 100m.

Old Hobo managed to transfer his Capbadge to the Clankies from the Glorious Corps of Sappers, so should not be a problem, Manning and Records are no good at that sort of thing too technical for them.

And what Regiment was "Hobo"????   Here's a clue - and it started with a 2.

And what corps was Elles?

(as an aside, I notice that Fuller, Liddell Hart, and Hotblack were all infantry - must have decided to give up walking)

Here's a question.

It's about promotion from Warrant Officer onwards.

From what I've seen in real life a WO when they are promoted into the commissioned herd, they usually go in as a Captain or a two pipper (hey Sir - you've got more pips than braincells) - depending on service.

Now my TC in my BPM (yes I know it's got its detractors, but I'm enjoying it) is a W03 and I bet he's due to take his commission soon.

What's the betting he gets a single pip?

Anybody has experienced this stage of promotion so far?

There is such a British Military rank as a First Lieutenant, but only in the Royal Navy.  In the British Army there is no ordinal attached except for the Second Leiutenant.

Sorry, but that's not correct - First Lieutenant in the Navy is a Post, not a rank  (I'm guessing it'd equate to adjutant in the Army) for example where I work, our last First Lieutenant held the rank of Lieutenant Commander and his successor was a plain Lieutenant

In the RE you go from WO1 to Capt, in the RLC and I believe REME (one of my ASM's was trying for both) you go as a Lieutenant. It seems dependant on Corps.

I did a course at Shrivenham a few years back, one of they guys on this course had arms covered in tattoos and introduced himself as Captain Walker - I was slightly surprised, not at the tattoos so much as the fact that the guy was in his 40s - turns out he was a Warrant who had gone Officer as the pension was far better, he was REME too.

There you go, that's the ranks ingame. Highest to lowest. Maybe not final but thats what i've got, i know class 3 looks like major...

No such thing as a WO 3. The badge show for the WO3 is in fact that for a WO2 in an appointment such as Sergeant Major. The badge for a WO2 is for a WO2 not in a Company/Squadron/Battery appointment, sometimes they are referred to s "Q"

Poor WoT have no chance getting this right.

Cavalry, Guards, RTR, Sappers and Gunners all should be represented when the Tech Tree is fully fleshed out.

Something tells me they will not be discriminating between the different cap badges, so we are just going to have to keep calm and carry on.

Can't say I blame them, we have a somewhat Byzantine system that even some in the army don't understand.

It's a very quick fix to change "1st Lt" to "Lt" and do something more appropriate with this WO3 farce. So, as it's a quick fix and related to the British tech tree, maybe we'll see it sometime in 2015. In the mean time, WG have got some Russian and Chinese tanks to buff.
