In my opinion every tank that can use the 107 mm ZIS-6 should be able to use the 122 mm D2-5T and vice versa since they are equal in performance. It would lead to more customization of the tank and more happy tankers --> :)

Here are the stats of the guns
107 mm ZIS-6 (Currently the best gun on the T-150)
5,61-6,67 Rate of fire (rounds/min)
167/219/54 Average penetration (mm)
300/300/360 Average damage
0,45 Accuracy at 100m (m)
3,4 Aiming time (sec)
2400 Weight (kg)

Ammo cost:
AP 170
HE (gold) 10
HEAT 280

122 mm D2-5T (Currently the best gun on the KV-1S)
3,75-4,17 Rate of fire (rounds/min)
175/217/61 Average penetration (mm)
390/390/465 Average damage
0,46 Accuracy at 100m (m)
3,4 Aiming time (sec)
2600 Weight (kg)

Ammo cost:
AP 1025
HEAT 608
HE (gold) 12

You might say that the 122mm gun is better overall, but look at the ammo cost! It is almost 4 times more expensive than the 107mm gun, and that makes the 122mm gun worse at moneymaking. Thats why these are comparable. (and in some situations the 107mm gun is better anyway) Sometimes the gun is good "on that tank in this tier" and so on, thats why I've  made several questions about different tanks that can use both guns.

Yes I know, that gun is better than both of these guns, but the question is which gun is better out of these guns. And don't be confused about the KV-4, I mean the 107 is the stock gun

Sorry for my English and I hope you enjoyed the poll! :) Edit: Whats the - rep for? Confusing poll? Bad English? Please let me know!

122mm is a nightmare.
Going to use it on tier 9 tank to grind to DT-9..
Horrible accurary.
Does fine on tier 6 and 7, because no lack of penetration.

on IS3 and other higher tiers it sucks but on tier 6,7 it shines. Ammo cost pays off

I would rather use 107mm, it has better DPM and lower ammo cost. However, DPS is slightly worse.

Dude, no offense, but you dont even have an IS3.....

On topic, i find the 107mm more accurate for medium ranges..
For brawling 122mm is the right tool..

i really find the 122mm gun very powerful, but still very high ammo cost=losing many credits if you miss shots

the 107mm is fun with great all rounds but not as powerful but good at DPM

The 122mm is much better for randoms since most people will try to hide once they see 500 dmg taken off which will give you plenty of time to reload and finish em off. Its best to have the support of a rapid fire US tank to keep em in place and than nail em HARD.

For company battles it depends on team. I played all those tanks (T44 included) except the KV-4 and the TDs using the 122mm and its a great gun.
I hated the IS-3 with it but it turned out it was all my fault :D not the gun.

on higher tier's those guns are crap they give a good reason for a guy to jump out of a window

i used 107mm zis-24 on kv4 OMG i suffered so much with that gun specially on higher tier's i think i had to buy tons of paint to compasate players on their paint job

its not even worth to research it not unless you want to be in a looney house with a simple message " it bounce off, gunner take over, it bounce off"

jezzzzzzzz

IMO you dont get to take into account ammo cost when comparing guns because you want to check out performance rather than expense.
If you are a money whore or dont have premium/premium tank use the 107 because it gets the job done.Otherwise use the 122 because evn though precision and penetration(in high tiers) suck if played right you still get to do significantly more dmg than with the 107

Actually, I find that despite the costs of ammunition for the 122mm, the large alpha damage is more than adequate for making money. That said, I also have a T34 (the premium one) which is what I use most of the time for making money, so perhaps that's just what I'm used to.

Include the KV-2 in the poll too. It can only mount the 107mm ZIS-6 and the 152mm M-10T.

In general I prefer the 107mm over the 152mm, but I prefer the 122mm D2-5T over both of them.

You are right! I should have thought of that when I made the poll, thankyou!

No offense tanken i played it on friends account. I helped him grind IS3.

BTW: Now i have KV1s and IS with 122mm and they are doing fine, ammo and repairs pay off, and when you have 100% crew and get used to it it can really mess up opponents day

Serious problem with this topic that there is a D-2-5T and a different D-25T which is faster.
So i think 122mm D-2-5T < 107mm Zis-6 < 122mm D-25T

Example. KV-3 data
VII 122 mm D-2-5T 38 390/390/465 HP 175/217/61 mm 4.08 r/m 0.46 m 3.4 s -7°/+24° 17,000 84,980  2,600 kg
VIII 122 mm D-25T 38 390/390/465 HP 175/217/61 mm 4.88 r/m 0.46 m 3.4 s -7°/+24° 19,000 125,140  2,590 kg

Yep. There are three separate guns on KV-3 for example, and there are tanks that can only use one of them, as T-150 or KV-1S.
I didn't think that 7mm of penetration makes the difference, as the DPM is similar. But it does. I get many more penetrating shots with D-25T than with ZiS-6 when brawling with my KV-3. And combined with 25% bigger alpha it significantly boosts survivability of the tank, so you earn more despite much higher ammo cost.

not true, its cause of the retarded high ammo cost...

T54 (and T62) have most expensive ammo/damage of the entire game....

(patton ammo is cheaper as T54 ammo, but patton deals more damage...)

Thats my point . The ammo is way to expensive for you to make a profit on a hit. It does so little damage i dont think you make the cost back at all.
